half hour ago a san francisco judge delayed the sentencing of edwin ramos for the 2008 murders of a father and two of his sons, in court this morning the victims' family members gave emotional impact statements. ramos will be sentenced next monday. he faces life without row a jury convicted him of three counts of first degree murder for the shootings deaths of the man and his sons. prosecutors called it a revenge shooting saying ramos mistakenly thought they were rival gang members. ramos admitted driving the car but says another man fired the gun. giants' slugger sandoval's return may hinge on whether sexual assault charges are filed against him. a 21-year-old santa cruz county woman claims the 25-year-old third baseman assaulted her early friday morning at the seascape resort. she told deputies she met him

earlier in downtown santa cruz the sheriff questioned sandoval the day it happen. his attorney says the slug cooperating and the encounter was consensual. so far, so good for nut ferry service connecting the peninsula with the east bay this is the first day of operation. -- amy hollyfield is live in south san francisco with more. >> reporter: everything has gone smoothly this morning except for the rain. they did not expect this of course. they had to move their ceremony inside the terminal so it is crowded in there, still everyone is very excited about this new service. take a look at the maiden voyage it pushed off from alameda at 6:25 this morning. all passengers onboard rode for free. it will be that way the entire week to encourage people to trite service. word hasn't gotten out yet -- about this new ferry service there were plenty of seats on the 6:25 and 7:25 ferries. those onboard were grateful

they've been waiting for this. >> relocated from new york and i had the entire bay area to look at. and i love alameda but hate long cutes. when i found out the ferry was coming in i said alameda. >> given the opportunity to take a ferry to work or sit in stressful highway is an easy answer. >> reporter: representative spears one of several dignataries at the ribbon cutting ceremony also here for the groundbreaking ceremony in 2009. they were hoping this terminal and the service would be opening a couple of years earlier than now. but, they are excited it is here and that was the focus today. this ferry will pick people up at the alameda terminal and jack london square and bring them to south san francisco if you want to try it this is the week. all of the rides will be free. after that a round trip ticket will cost $14.

amy hollyfield, abc7 news. right now two of san francisco's busiest muni lines are back on track. the n judah and j church rolled out for full service, acidded at 5:00 this morning. bus shuttles replaced part of those routes for the past 10 days while crews made street and track improvements. >> the buses have been making me late. >> today is a good day? >> yes, finally, nine daysó?o of hell. >> there was some inconvenience we tried to make it as painless as possible we had buses every three minutes to help custome get where they feed go. >> muni says the shutdown was important and -- starting today commuters will enjoy smoother, faster rides. pedestrians and cyclists will notice improvements. low turnout is expected when california voters head to the polls tomorrow for the primary. early voting has been taking place at many registrar

d alameda county, oakley, brentwood, altamont, livermore towards dublin along 580 that's where we are seeing the better returns. the lighter rain in the eastern sections. head down through the sunol pass, calaveras avenue, piedmont road to alum rock starting to move into the higher elevations on the eastside of san jose at least the better radar returns are you can see light rain in green for the rest of the south bay this is all moving east, good clip about 30 miles per hour. behind it we'll have a scattering of showers. steadiest of the rain and heaviest is falling now. you can see it with the brighter more strata formed clouds looking there. behind it more cumulus clouds that is going to be the instability that could pop a shower during the afternoon. once that heavier line moves through, almost in the clear. mid 50s to around 60you are stepping out. same around the monterey bay
