and i'm kristen sze. a spare the air day another big story. these are live pictures from our vollmer peak camera looking into the east bay hills. you can see the haze, hot temperatures creating unhealthy air. let's get latest from mike. good morning. our fifth spare the air of the summer seen. right here is a map showing the bay area color coded depending on where you live that will show you where if you are under the spare the air or not. let's show what is going on in the east bay valleys here where question could have poor air quality today. bay area air quality management district puts everybody on a spare the air because whatever you do in your neighborhood could pollute other areas. if you can take mass transit, don't refill the car fumes, mow will receipt issues. temperatures mild at the coast,

63 to 68. warm around the bay, highs from 78 to 87 inland neighborhoods will have the heatwave the next couple of days, 92 to 102. we'll talk about how long this will last in a few minutes. pg&e is asking businesses to help conserve energy during this triple digit heat. businesses enrolled in a special program to save money and energy are being asked to switch lights to lower levels, turn off monitors, tv's coffee machines or any other devices that is not needed. it would be helpful if regular customerses could back between 3 and 7 p.m.. three-day job fair getting underway now in san francisco at the metreon on 4th street. if you think you are a good candidate to work at target, now is your chance.

they are looking for 300 people. >> reporter: for those on the hunt for a job fair, this fair is much needed good news. minutes ago the interviews got underway for 300 jobs we are at 4th and mission outside the metreon complex. at one point the line stretched down mission. target says over the next three days it is ready to hire on the spot. at 7:15 this morning she arrived first in line and ready to go. all for a chance to land one of 300 jobs open at san francisco's new target. >> i'm very excited. i want to show them i'm a good person on people skills and everything. >> reporter: she is competing with a long line of others, also fighting for a job. for the next three days, target will interview hundreds, with as many as 25 interviews going on at one time.

an american scientist is safely in new zealand after daring rescue in the antarctic winter. the team and patient have not
