throughout the home on macon road in oakland. investigators believe at least 15 shots were fired into the house 1:00 this morning while a family was sleeping inside. one bullet hit an 11-year-old boy who was sleep in his bed. >> heard screaming. then i got out and went to mom, then i saw like smoke coming out of her room. i saw my grandma and my mom crying. out of nowhere my little brother coming out with blood on his chest got shot. >> reporter: police said late this morning, it does look like the boy will be okay. >> at this point it appears he is going to make it. he is again, doctors supervised -- it appears he has suffered at least one wound listed in stable condition. so it does look good >> reporter: a total of nine people sleeping in the home, including an infant. it appears some of the bullets must have grazed over some of their heads, hitting the walls,

next to the beds. >> the bullets almost hit my little brother appear almost my dad. >> reporter: police are trying to figure out why this happened. at this point, it doesn't look random. >> it is evident this home was sought out due to the amount of bullets that had been fired into the home. those are some of the questions that we're looking to find answers to. >> reporter: one of the men who lives here says he xeno why his family would be targeted -- he says he doesn't know why his family would be targeted. he has heard shots other times. >> was the first time and today our house for no reason. >> reporter: police say since this happened in the middle of the night, no one is usually outside at that time, at this point, they don't think anyone witnessed this. they will be canvassing the neighborhood today to double check that. at this point, no witnesses, no' rests. amy hollyfield, abc7 news.

-- three women are recovering from injuries after somebody opened fire on their car near mills college around 11:30 last night. there were five women total in the car they were diving along the 36 block of seminary avenue. 21-year-old driver is in serious condition but is expected to recover. her 19-year-old sister also wounded. another passenger in the car was hit in the eye by either a bullet fragment or flying glass. police don't have suspects or motive. things are back to norm after at three schools after a brief lock down triggered by reports someone saying they saw two men one with a gun walking through a church parking lot. sky 7 hd was overhead as police searched for a possible gunman. two neighboring schools were

put on lockdown, police gave the all-year clear >> in martinez a -- gas station is crossed after a car went into a gas pump, a customer suddenly accelerated, hit the pump and ignited fire. gas station attendant hit the automatic shut-off valve, there was still enough gas in the leans to fuel a fire that burned several cars and amazingly, nobody was hurt >> southern california judge denied actress' request to take down a you tube club she appeared in. cindy garcia asked for an injunction against google the search engine has blocked users in libya, egypt and saudi arabia from viewing that film. yesterday garcia sued the film maker for fraud and slander saying she was unaware of the film's anti-muslim content.

the judge refused because the filmmaker was not served a copy. chris stevens was worried about his safety in that country. cnn reports he told friends his name was on an al-qaeda hit list. intelligence officials admitting it is unlikely stevens was killed by random protesters. stevens graduated from uc berkeley and uc hastings law. good news for california job seeks, rates of unemployment expected to improve slowly over the next two years. according to economic forecast, the current state unemployment rate is to remain around 10.7% for the rest of this year. expected to improve to an average of 9.8% next year. by 2014 the state unemployment rate should drop to 8.5%. nation's hispanic voters are the focus of the presidential race with both candidates campaigning in florida today. president obama will take part in a forum the day after

a company has been slapped with a 500 million dollar fine for forcing consumers to pay more for apple to dell products. a judge in san francisco has just sentenced the company and two former top executives for price fixing which cue say force americans to pay billions more than they should have. this is from the company's corporate video. the company is supposed to be making for the ipad minis. now they are slapped with this fine. the department of justice wanted the company to pay a billion dollars in fines. denver man says he's giving the money to charity after winning 7.2 million dollars in a lawsuit over popcorn lung. wayne watson sued various food companies after being diagnosed with popcorn lung in 2007. he says evented the respiratory condition from years of eating microwave popcorn. he argued the companies fail
