having reportedly pointed a gun at the teller during the robbery in northwest houston at a bank. something was thrown out of the passenger side window during the chase and you can see it is going through city streets with police vehicles behind it and we do not know how many inside or what they did to the car. officials put spike strips but the van is still going and we will continue to monitor the developing story. >> new video of a dramatic rescue in portland, oregon. a woman fell from a roof tomb and -- rooftop and was trapped between the walls of two building. they cut through a wall using an airbag and liquid to get her free. she was four hours wedged off the ground. can you see hero leaf when she was pulled to safety. she went to have a smoke in the middle of the night and was taken to the hospital where she is listed in "fair" condition.

>> walnut creek, campbell, and all the bay area, this is abc7 news. >> researchers are offering a glimmer of hope in the battle against autism. a small and controversial new study found some children who are diagnosed early can grow out of the diagnosis order by the time they are adults. all the children in the study had a mild form of autism and slightly higher i.q. and received intensive therapy and support. skeptics say the children may have been misdiagnosed. research was funded bit national institutes of health. the san jose sharks are sharpening their skates for the delayed start of the season with individual tickets on sale today and fans were greeted at the h.p. pavilion.

from mt. st. helena. milder temperatures than yesterday. mostly in the 40's, 48 in san francisco and 52 in half moon bay and 49 in antioch and livermore so we are a few degrees warmer compared to year at this time. that will be the trend through the weekend. milder temperatures today, and "spare the air" in effect, no would burning and a slow warming trend expects for the week end so poor air quality expected in the north bay and moderate air quality in the east bay and south bay. but the likely issue of another "spare the air" alert at 2:00, so it could be with us into the weekend and these are the preliminary numbers for this morning's lows, we had quite a few 20's still out there in napa county airport, fairfield at 27.
