b.a.r.t. station. >> tonight police have a suspect in custody. thank you for jing us. i'm eric thomas. >> a dion lim. bafrt police say the stabbing may have bn worse if it wasn't for the good samaritan. >> katie utehs live with more on the dwefg story. >> reporter: the man being called a hero tonight by b.a.r.t.'s deputy police chief and that man did sustain a cut to his hand wrestling the knife away. but he is otherwise okay. the dispatch audio captured the terrifying moments following the attack. >> at 225, a knife and looks like a 4 to 5-inches male stabbing another male. >> a lot of blood. >> now a woman in her 50s in fair condition. they are siblings and didot know the attacker. b.a.r.t. police say the

suspected stabber 32-year-old robert doll of bordered at civic center, seen acting erratically mumbling and making out bursts. >> aboardroom his behavior they exited at the station at 30urk antried to get away. he blocked the fare gate. the stakes cameras captured the attack. police aren't releasing the video butay it shows the attack of the victims with a large fixed bleed knife heating both in the head. a good samaritan intervened and the deputy chief says in doing so he likely saved lives. other people helped hold doll of to the ground as police arrived. police haven't released information on the criminal history of the suspect or if he was under the influence of drugs or alcohol at the time. >> it appears as though he was out of his mine. there doesn't appear to be any motive other than to do harm to these people. >> reporter: the station agent called for help during the attack. a b.a.r.t. police officer in his vehicle outside the station

responded in less than 2 minutes. the stabbing shut down the coliseum stadium ahead of a warriors game at oracle arena. doll of is in custody on attempted murder charges. he did confess the killing -- the stabbing, rather, however he did not provide a motive. live in walnut creek, katie utehs, abc 7. >> thank you. meantime in the police in the east bay are searching for a gunman who authorities say shot and killed and 23-year-old man in pleasant hill. the first homicide since 2012. as abc 7 news reporter tell us it happened during a robbery involving marijuana. >> i'm shocked. it's not something i like to happen here in my neighborhood. >> this neighbor stunned to learn about a homicide on her own street. police say it happened at this home on norse drive, saturday. the victim identified was shot
