e-mail letting them know that counselors will be on campus, available to talk to anyone that needs a little extra support tomorrow. a sad silence hangs over san ramon valley high school as students say good-bye to their friend. >> he was sweet and he was really shy. really sweet, though. >> reporter: those here say ben curry was the 15-year-old who was found at the bottom of the school swimming pool after fourth period p.e. class. >> i changed next to the kid in my locker, and i saw him. he was laughing. he was happy. he didn't seem -- nothing seemed wrong with him. >> reporter: danville police still don't know what happened after that class, but by fifth period p.e. students and even curry's friends were about 20 get into the pool when they saw the body. >> it just kind of was a shock. and it's weird some guy you know almost all your life is not going to be there the next day. it's just hard to process. >> reporter: many found solace here at school together. >> they wanted to give him flowers and put a memorial for

him because he deserved it because not everybody knew what a cool kid he was. >> he was kind of a natural born leader and just a very kind human being. >> reporter: police are making this case a priority. in danville lisa amin gulezian, abc 7 news. >> abc 7 news has learned new details about the san francisco police officer who's accused of -- who's accused the department, rather, of religious and ethnic discrimination. that officer held a news conference with public defender jeff adachi last month. he claims someone sketched an isis flag on his locker with the message go back. the officer asked not to be identified for safety reasons. abc 7 news has learned he was the subject of a napa police all points bulletin in 2013. he met a female on a dating website an told her he was a high-level cia agent and he claimed to have been involved in the killing of osama bin laden. the bulletin alerted other agencies that he had applied to be a police officer in san francisco, west sacramento, and santa cruz and the oakland

police department has confirmed that he was dismissed from the oakland police academy. we are waiting for a response from public defender jeff adachi on these new revelations. concern about a shortage offen pens has prompted kaiser personali permanente to limit the drug's supply. kaiser says it will provide one syringe at a time. a patient advocacy group says 45 states have reported a shortage of these allergy shot the drug's maker says it is experiencing manufacturing delays due to a new process put in place following complaints about defective epipens. six candidates debated topics from housing to immigration to moral character. abc 7 news reporter katie marzullo has the story. reporter: several debate questions focused on immigration. things became heated between republican travis allen and lieutenant governor gavin newsom on california's sanctuary status. >> california needs to lead the national debate on comprehensive

'll the form eer california governor known as the iron duke is being remembered as a man who demanded honesty and integrity. george deukmejian died today at his long beach home of natural causes. george deukmejian's political care began when he was elected to the state assembly in 1962, followed by 12 years in the state senate and a stint adds as state attorney general. >> i george deukmejian do solemnly swear -- >> reporter: when he became california's 35th governor in 1982, the son of armenian immigrants deukmejian became the most prominent armenian-american politician in the united states. it is his lineage that prompted him to successfully urge the state to pull some $3 billion in

stock holdings out of south africa during apartheid. >> governor deukmejian is a descendant of armenian genocide. his parents were part of the armenian genocide in 1915. so he had a special place in his heart for other people. >> reporter: during his two terms as governor he also eliminated a $1.5 billion deficit, expanded the state prison system, and supported tough anti-crime legislation. a snapshot of his legacy. george deukmejian was 89 years old. there were some contentious races and big wins in the first primaries of 2018. here are a few of the key races tonight. in west virginia incumbent u.s. senator democratoe manchin will face republican patrick morrissey. morrissey defeated don blankenship, the coal baron who spent a year in jail after 29 of his employees died. in ohio incumbent senator sherrod brown will try to remain the state's only democrat in a high office seat. he'll face republican j renacy, an auto dealer who received a twitter endorsement

from the president. and in indiana trump supporter mike braun won what was called a bloody fight to face incumbent democratic senator joe donnelley. more evacuations tonight in hawaii after two new fissures, outlets for lava and gases, opened up from the kilauea volcano. geologists expect more eruptions too. the hawaii civil defense says 35 buildings including at least 26 homes have been destroyed and a total of 12 fissures have formed since kilauea first erupted last thursday. sky 7 was over 66th avenue and san leandro street in oakland where repairs to fix a water main break are expected to impact traffic through the morning. a contractor hit the 12-inch cast iron main around 4:30 p.m., knocking out water service to several businesses. warriors and a's fans headed to tonight's games were also affected since that main is not far from oracle arena and oakland coliseum. and abc 7 sports director larry beil managed to make his way through that mess and is live from oracle arena tonight

you've probably heard before. ♪ this is the largest unaltered pipe organ in california and it's celebrating its 130th birthday. the organ was built in boston but first installed at first unitarian church on franklin street in san francisco. after the 1906 earthquake it was moved t this building. >> sounds just like it did in 1888. >> reporter: john bradshaw takes care of the organ at our laid yif guadalupe church which was recently restored and turned into an event space. >> it actually feels really, really old. it feels like it's in really good shape. it's like a lady who has maintained herself quite well. >> reporter: suzanne ramsey is a musician. she's also a san francisco native and was curious about the organ. >> almost feelsike this crazy living breathing thing. i'm serious. it feels really powerful. >> reporter: the owners of the building plan to hold more events to show off their organ in the future.

at live doppler 7. visibility is low across parts of our coast. half moon bay reporting some very thick fog. if you're flying out of sfo tomorrow morning you will likely encounter delays due to a low ceiling. this is a live picture. take a look at your morning commute planner. watch out for dense fog tomorrow morning. if you're taking the ferry across the bay it's going to be a murky ride, and foggy and drizzly if you're walking. the fridays factor is going to be high. i hate to tell you that. but the fog obviously does a number for some of us with our hair. it is definitely going to be a gray drizzly start. some of you love the fog. you'll see plenty of it during the morning commute tomorrow. it is going to be breezier and cooler in the afternoon. and a warmer pattern is setting up for the end of the week. a live picture right now from our emeryville camera as we look toward 80 there. and the overcast skies. this view is going to be blurred as we head tord the morning commute time period. here's a look at what's been happening. the system coming in did drop

our temperature a few degrees. if it wasn't noticeable to you today, cooling continues tomorrow and trust me, it will be noticeable. high pressure builds in behind it, end of the week, you will notice warmer pattern. tomorrow morning 5:00 a.m. watch out for the fog. it's going to be pretty widespread across the region. dense in spots 8:00 a.m. and as we head into noon time that fog will sit tight near the coast. visibility will be low. so allow yourself extra time for the morning commute. that drizzle could be creating some damp roadways. watch out for that as well. upper 40s to the low 50s first thing in the morning and then for the afternoon some fog lingers near the coast. for the rest of you a mix of sun and high clouds. it's still going to be mild inland, just not as warm as today. 70s inland, 50s along the coast. as you check out the warm end to the workweek. wednesday's temperatures in the first column. by friday you're going up anywhere from 7 to 11 degrees. so san jose you'll come up from 73 to 80 degrees. you'll notice the warm-up. accuweather seven-day forecast, morning fog giving way to a cooler afternoon.
