disturbing. >> in a matter of minutes a stop quickly backs violent. >> the video taken from a body camera early friday morning shows a female suspect striking his partner with one of his patrol cars. he were heard screaming in pain after the initial attack. this is the view from the camera the second deputy was wearing. the suspect hitting the gas multiple times forcing him to open fire hits the woman with three bullets. she has been identified as jessica lowe, a resident of santa cruz county. >> just a reminder of the the difficult job. >> they encountered lowe and an unidentified man.

deputies ran the plates and discovered one of the vehicles had been stolen. the suspects were detained and things turned violent. lowe was some how able to reach through a partially opened window and open the door and got into the driver's seat of e patrol car. she drove the vehicle directly at one of the deputies. >> just a reminder. >> lowe has been charged of attempted murder of a police officer and six other charges. deputy returns to work next week. the injured deputy remains out on medical leave. abc 7 news. new at 6:00 bart says its system is getting safer. so far bart has seen a 9% drop compared to last year. robberies alone dropped 16%. property crimes are down 2%. bart has been hiring more police
