developing story. police have arrested christopher kerns in connection with an stead. won't be released was also arrested. just after 2 a.m. at "jackson's chevron" on stead boulevard. police say the 2 suspects were armed with a b-b gun. were nearby and saw the two men running arrest them. president obama is taking executive action on gun control announcing his controversial plan to bypass congress to expand background checks. the move has gop lawmakers from capitol hill to the campaign trail outraged, calling the president's actions unconstitutional. abc's kenneth moton reports from washington. it's a major presidential push toward gun control reform. sot pres obama it will potentially save lives in this country and spare families the pain and the extraordinary loss that they've suffered as a consequence of a firearm being in the hands of wrong people.

and culture center in reno. a local girl with asperger syndrome is using her special talents to help other kids struggling with disorders on the autism spectrum. falynne lewing will be putting on her annual michael jackson tribute show to raise money for the autism coalition of nevada. the performance will feature lots of dancing and singing to some of the the king of pop's biggest hits. lewing has faced many challenges growing up with asperger syndrome ... and says she wants to make sure other kids in the community are getting the help and treatment they need. recycling in sparks is about to get a lot easier. that's because people are starting to get new single-stream recycling carts to replace the color-coded crates. the single stream recycling is part of a new agreement between the city and waste management. waste management has already started delivering hte new curb-side carts which allow customers to put all acceptable recyclable materials into one bin. the change will be complete by the end of this month with waste management expecting to deliver more than 28-thousand new recycling carts. reno is already using the single stream recycling. time is running out to help the washoe county court collect food for people in need. the district court is drive in partnership with the food bank of donations are being collected on the first floor of the law library or the self help center. you can drop off non- perishable food through friday between 8 a-m and 5 p-m. for more information about the food drive, just go to kolo cares dot com. ### a group of militia

her father relieved..... "i felt like the whole world got lifted off my shoulders and some tense moments for a car salesman in texas-- after he was kidnapped at gunpoint during a test drive. police say two men showed up to the dealership wanting to test drive a dodge challenger. once they were out on the road, they stopped the car, pulled out a gun and shoved the salesman into the trunk. when the car stopped... police say the salesman made his move. lt. larry crowson "he was able to open the trunk using the emergency latch. the two suspects got out, tried to put him in the trunk, he didn't feel like he wanted to go back in the trunk, got in a fight with them, was able to get the pistol away from one of the suspects and shoot one of the suspects." the suspects took off and left the salesman behind. police were able to use the salesman's cellphone --which he'd left inside the car--to track the stolen car. the men ended up crashing the car-- then ran off. police are still looking for them. dog owners, we have a consumer alert to warn you about this morning. big dog natural food

1988. but in 1981... natsot: "cliff farnsworth" clue number one. it's a longshot... but back at the station... we searched and searched. then called... and called. we even started calling any 36 to 39- year-old chris'... christophers... christinas... christines... still nothing. then another clue. baird told us her aunt at the library of congress in washington dc found out the number belonged to another person in 1988. he had passed away. we reached out to his family... but came up short. : "i think it would be great to find chris. and find out where he put the bottle in the water." a romantic story of a sacramento child and his curiosity... now in the hands of a boy at jug handle reserve in mendocino county. the hope is one day... they meet and share their life experiences. : "well, i hope we find out really good things about how his life went."
