staff at the evelyn mount community center ... where hazmat crews responded to a chemical spill. around 8 a-m ... an employee noticed a leak coming from a room on the north side of the building. when crews from reno fire arrived on scene ... they discovered that a small amount of hydrochloric acid had spilled from a tank. firefighters cleared the area while they tested the toxin levels to make sure there wasn't a health risk. fire officials say there didn't appear to be an immediate threat to anyone in the building. the carson city's sheriff's office has identified two suspects wanted in connection with a home burglary last month. they're looking for 36 year old keith gearhart and 23-year old kayla robbins. the two were identified from surveillance images after police say they burglarized a home on ridgefield drive and stole jewelry, sports memorabilia and electronics. they're believed to be in northern california and are driving a black 2010 kia soul with nevada plates 7-6-a-5-0-1. if you have any information, you're urged to call the

we're getting a look at the woman who police say stabbed a man to death during a fight at a local motel. 40 year old victoria sweeting is charged with one count of open murder. police tracked her down to an apartment in south reno, where they say she admitted to stabbing 21-year-old michael banquicio early yesterday morning at the desert sunset motel on east fourth street. detectives are still investigating what started the fight. if you have any information that can help, you're urged to call reno police, or secret witness at 322- 4900. ### we're also getting a look at the man accused in a shooting last month-- who was arrested earlier this week after a nearly 6- hour standoff with police. sparks police say daniel enriquez barricaded himself, and as many as four hostages into a home near greenbrae and probasco tuesday morning. enriquez was wanted by reno police in connection with a shooting a the gold dust west, as well as a supermarket robbery. he's charged with robbery and battery with a deadly weapon, plus several weapons, and probation

a douglas county man is facing domestic battery charges after he allegedly tried to strangle his wife and fired a shotgun inside the home. 38-year-old mathew meinen was arrested monday. his wife told deputies he strangeld her and fired a shotgun inside the home... with seven children inside at the time. deputies say meinen refused to follow their instructions. he was tased and taken into custody. meinen is facing charges of resisting arrest, domestic battery, child abuse and being an ex-felon in possession of a weapon. his bail has been set at over 78-thousand- dollars. donald trump has raised concerns about gop rival's ted cruz eligibility to run for president. now... he's not the only one. former republican presidential candidate john mccain and constitutional scholars are chiming in. abc's kenneth moton has the report from washington. cruz's citizenship. today, more questions about ted cruz's legal right to run for president...the texas senator...born in canada

seven or eight years of drama around the president's birth certificate, if republican primary voters were to choose senator cruz as their nominee cruz renounced his canadian citizenship 18 months ago. this morning, donald trump tweeted that was a wise move by cruz. kenneth moton, abc news washington and speaking of trump... he will be at the reno ballroom on center street on sunday afternoon. the rally starts at 1 p- m, doors open at 11 o'clock. ohio governor john kasich will also be makign a stop in northern nevada. he is holding a meet and greet at the washoe county g-o-p headquarters next tuesday at 1:45 p-m. both events are open to the public, but an r-s-v-p is requested. democratic presidential hopefuls gathered in las vegas last night for the first caucus dinner in the west. at the dinner, hilliary clinton promised if she becomes president, nevada will quote "always have a friend in the white house." bernie sanders and martin o'malley were greeted with cheers from excited democrats.

arrested her. bland was found hanging in her cell inside the waller county jail three days after her arrest. the coroner ruled her death a suicide. the trooper who arrested her-- brian encinia-- has been charged with perjury-- accused of lying in his police report. bland's family believes he should be facing more indictments. "my initial reaction is the indictment should be followed by a conviction at some point. i'm going to assume. but where is the true indictment? where is the indictment for the assault? the battery? the false arrest? where is that? okay. so on the one hand, i got the news. i got the message about the initial perjury indictment. it appears that there should have been much more than what he was indicted for." officials say encinia will no longer be a

--reporter pkg-as follows-- more americans are taking dietary supplements and according to a new study by federal health experts many of them are ending up in the emergency department as a result. the study was a collaboration between the centers for disease control and prevention and the food and drug administration. "we found that over a quarter of them were young adults. these are people aged 20 to 34. these people were using supplements for weight loss or energy." over a fifth were young children, that's 20 percent that had gotten into supplements intended for somebody else." but the nutritional supplement industry insists the majority of their products are safe and the study's results are being overblown. "the headline, 23,000 emergency room visits every year are caused by supplements. is like wow, that sounds like a lot. but relatively speaking it's less than 5 percent of all emergency room visits."
