officials with reno fire say it started in a kitchen at a duplex on yori near grove street around 1:45 a.m. they believe it started after something was left cooking on the stove with no one home -- but the cause is still under investigation. there was significant smoke damage to the home. the red cross is helping the displaced families. another person has been arrested in connection with the shooting in carson city earlier this week that left an 18-year-old man dead. 21-year-old reed ske-nan-door skenandore was arrested tuesday night at a motel on south carson street. he's the third suspect to be arrested in this case. witnesses identified him as the one who pulled the trigger, killing 18- year-old grant watkins. detectives believe watkins was shot, while selling drugs to ske-nan-door skenandore and two other suspects. deputies searched an apartment, finding about 10-thousand-dollars in cash, drug paraphernalia, weights-- and packaging materials. ske-nan-door skenandore is being held without bail.

for the suspect accused of killing a man during street vibrations in 20-11. motorcycle gang member, ernesto gonzalez was found guilty of the murder in 2013. during his trial-- gonzalez testified he shot san jose hells angels president jeffrey pettigrew to defend another member in his biker gang - the vagos. but prosecutors say the vagos planned to kill pettigrew, and gonzalez was the trigger man. during jury deliberations, members asked the judge if gonzalez could be found guilty of killing pettigrew, but not part it was a question the state supreme court says, showed the jury was confused, and the stepped in for further clarification. "david houston/gonzalez attorney: it is absolutely correct that a judge is not to influence the outcome of a trial, and in fact, where a jury instrtuction is clear, regard that jury, go back, read the

what became clear at that time and later of course with the supreme court, they jury was struggling with a fundemental issue of the instruction" houston says, his client will be released from prison-- and taken back to the county jail. he says the new trial could be underway by the end of summer. thousands of people are upset after the nevada public utilites commission voted to keep increased solar energy rates the same. the commission voted in december that solar customers, need to pay more per month, to support the electrical grid. they also voted customers should be paid less for the power they put back into the power grid. the nevada bureau of consumer protection, asked the p-u-c to stop or delay the rate change, but the commission denied this request last night. ""do i have a second? second. aye aye aye. motion passes." "the rates are still going to kick in and it probably will have to take a lawsuit to try and change this around that that is a travesty" commissioners say they

customers. solar customers are only 2-percent of the customers in nevada. they say they made the vote for the other 98- percent. douglas county may soon be looking for a new county manager. the board of commissioners is considering a mutual separation agreement with manager jim nichols. the deal will be on the agenda at the next board meeting on january 21st. the board will also discuss plans for an interim county manager. if the agreement is approved, nichols will leave the county on january 29th. the reno police department has a new way for you to help fight crime. today they're unveiling an app called 'my r-p-d'. officers say this new app will make it easier to file police reports, find crime prevention tips and access community resources. the reno fire its ranks. they say they'll now provide paramedic services. the fire department

services, but with advanced life support services, they say it will make a big difference. the fire chief says with these new services, they'll be able to reduce the suffering of victims they treat, by giving them pain medication before they're taken to the hospital. abc's marci gonzalez has the latest in the case. script: italian investigators say they now know who killed american ashley olsen...in her apartment in florence.. arresting a suspect- and revealing what they believe led to the 35- year-old's violent death. garrett sot? or nat italian prosecutor prosecutors saying early friday morning, olsen left the florence nightclub pictured here from dailymail.com...with a man she met.. a senagalese immigrant...they claim had been in italy illegally for a few a few months, and was known to police for suspected drug-related activities. investigators claim both olsen and the man were intoxicated on alcohol and possibly drugs, walking to olsen's studio apartment where

had consensual sex... but investigators believe - when olsen asked the man to leave...there was a fight. according to italian media - the suspect then pushed olsen, and she hit her head, fracturing her skull in two places. on saturday, her body was found naked on the floor, with bruises and scratches on her neck. the official cause of death: strangulation by a cord or chain. garrett sot investigators saying they found the suspect's dna on a condom and cigarette in the toilet. they claim he also took her cell phone, which helped police track him down. tag- there are reports that the suspect claims he didn't intend to kill olsen. he's now in police custody, charged with aggravated homicide. mg abc news ny three men have been convicted of being involved in the biggest robbery in u-k's legal history. a jury found 58-year-old carl wood... 50-year-old william lincoln... 48- year-old hugh doyle guilty in the 2015 hatton garden heist. the hatton garden safe deposit company in
