the man who reno police believe stole two trucks in stead and led them on a chase. around 10:30am yesterday morning officers went looking for the suspect in a stolen truck case.... that man is 19-year-old rylin wolfe. police say he ran off when he saw police... then stole another truck was unoccupied and running in a driveway. when police tried to stop him, he led them on a chase through a neighborhood, at one point hitting a fence. police say they stopped the case for safety reasons. several agencies and the raven helicopter assisted reno police in attempting locate wolfe. the incident led to precautionary code yellow lockdowns at o'brien middle school as well as stead and silver lake elementary schools. wolfe is 5'6" and 150 pounds with brown hair and blue eyes, and is considered to be armed and dangerous. if you know anything about his whereabouts you are asked to the reno police department or secret witness at 322-4900.. you can also text a tip to 847-411 keyword.. s-w. we now know the name

leading deputies on a chase in a stolen pickup last week in carson city. the nevada highway patrol says 21-year-old edy prudensio martinez-ramirez stole a ford f150 pickup from a home in carson city. carson deputies found the truck in traffic and tried to stop martinez- ramirez... but he sped off after ramming a sheriff suv. investigators say he then lost control and drove across all the lanes of college parkway including the center median... then over a sidewalk and through a fence of the carson city airport... where he hit the airport hangar. martinez-ramirez was thrown from the truck and killed. seatbelt. no deputies or troopers were hurt in the incident. the nevada highway patrol is investigating the crash, while the public safety is investigating the incident. martinez-ramirez may in a hit-and-run. voters came out in near-record numbers in new hampshire.. shaking up both sides in the race for the white house.

a washoe county school district spokeswoman, says there were no shots fired-- and there was no act of violence. the principal of spanish springs high school released a statement saying in part.... "as school police continue to investigate this case, i want to stress that we encourage all students, staff and families to be alert of what is happening around them." in carson city... wildlife officials are warning people not to feed deer. according to the nevada appeal... officials have issued several deer draw mountain lions into neighborhoods and also pose a risk for drivers. some residents are reportedly concerned that the deer may be starving. but the carson city game warden is assuring them that the deer are doing fine. people caught feeding deer face fines of up to 5-hundred dollars after the first warning. "star spangled sparks" on the fourth of july is a tradition for many local families. but this year's event will be a little different. the nugget casino resort announced they're moving the event from july fourth to july third-- saying they see a big drop in attendance if the event

grows, concern grows as athletes prepare for the summer olympics in brazil where zika is spreading rapidly. abc's stephanie ramos has more. script: the rio olympics begin seven months from now. instead of worrying about their fitness levels, some top athletes are worried about the zika virus. soccer star hope solo helped lead team u-s-a to a world cup victory in 2015. but solo tells sports illustrated because of the risk of zika, she would skip the olympics if forced to make the choice today. "i would never take the risk of having an unhealthy child. i don't know when that day will come for jeremy and me, but i personally reserve my right to have a healthy baby." zika is spread by mosquitos and has been linked to a birth defect that causes babies to have abnormally small heads. the virus could stay in the system for about a week. but once it has left the body, the cdc does not believe it affects future

kennedy. he's calling for the state to reopen the case, and plans to ask the parole board to release sirhan from prison during today's hearing. this man is accused of stealing money from a photo booth in batavia, illinois. the camera was snapping away as he took the money. the robbery actually happened back in november - be retrieved until recently. police say he got away with 75-dollars - but left behind several headshots that police are now asking the public to help identify. ots hundreds of american soldiers are headed to afghanistan. the u-s army announced tuesday that it would deploy soldiers to the southern afghan province of helmand. the new troops will assist afghan forces who try to push back taliban insurgents. the military says the soldiers will not take active combat roles. this will be the largest deployment of american troops outside major

there's a new grow facility in sparks and "kolo 8 news now" got a look inside. market analysts expect the legal marijuana trade to see a 30- percent growth over the next few years. that means the new company will need new employees. co-president of 'silver state trading', john stutton says they'll continue to hire people who are passionate about medicine. he says the legal marijuana business in the u-s is a multi-billion dollar industry and many of his employees are excited about the growth opportunities. the 40 thousand square foot facility began production last august, and has the capacity to hold roughly 4,000 plants -- plants that are monitored closely by the company and law enforcement. "the building is filled with bullet proof glass but hd cameras that capture everyone's movement 24/7/365. the city of sparks enforcement agency can look in on us at any time. we have emergency buttons we can push if anyone came in like an armed intruder."

state trading' ... visit kolo tv dot com and click on hot topics. in an effort to prevent prescription drug abuse walgreen stores here in the silver state will be adding kiosks so you can safely get rid of your unused medications. its part of a national effort to curb the misuse of these drugs and the rise in overdose deaths - nevada is one of the states where these kiosks will be installed. installations should be finished sometime this year. the takata airbag recall is expanding. daimler and mercedes- benz have issued recalls on 840-thousand cars and vans in the u-s because of airbags that may be defective. honda, ford, nissan and toyota have all been forced to issue recalls because of the defective airbags, which can explode violently without warning. they have caused at least ten deaths worldwide -- nine in the u-s. replacing the airbags will cost daimler about 380-million dollars. owners will be notified by the company if their vehicle is under recall. and general motors is

suvs over problems with the brake pedal. apparently the pedals can come loose and not work properly. models affected include 20-15 and 20-16 chevy silverado...g-m-c sierra heavy duty, and chevy tahoe police vehicles. so far, there haven't been any reports of injuries. today, the united states got one step closer to a true driverless car. regulators have long insisted "driverless" cars still need a driver -- someone who can take control by grabbing the steering wheel and slamming on the brakes. this week, regulators gave google the go- ahead to build a car without any of that. no steering wheel. no accelerator. no brakes. states can still pass laws that require vehicles to have those things, but federal regulators have opened the way for -- perhaps -- faster development of truly driverless cars. google, for years, has been telling safety regulators that its self-driving cars are safer than cars driven by humans. of course, those cars are still years away

the nevada d-m-v is putting more money into a virtual line system blamed for long wait times last summer. the state board of examiners voted to expand a 5-year contract with vendor "q-less"--- by about 300- thousand dollars. q-less offers services such as dash-pass, which allows customers to check into a virtual d- m-v line and walk to the window, when a technician is ready. last summer the d-m-v blamed dash pass for long wait times, saying people checked in from home but didn't show up. ### we're getting a look at the new license plate-- dedicated to funding parks and recreation in reno. the city-- has to have at least 1-thousand registrations in 2016, which is the minimum number required for a specialty plate. "wingfield park, idlewild, terra sports complex, the soccer fields at moana, the money would go to support that, also city programs like sierra kids, senior programs etc, all supported by this plate"
