mcneil tells us... a deputy as shot in the hand in the incident. the sheriff says a vehicle was reported stolen in sparks around 9-30 last night. less than an hour later, that s-u-v was spotted by a lyon county deputy in the parking lot of the silver springs nugget. as the deputy approached the vehicle ... someone in the car shot at him, and the deputy returned fire... killing conti. a juvenile in the vehicle was also shot and flown to the hospital with uknown injuries. two other juveniles ran from scene, but were later arrested. the names of the suspects, and deputy-- have not been released. ### the search for two suspects in a south lake tahoe murder has led investigators to solano county. investigators from the el dorado county d-a's office were in vallejo looking for 24-year-old domenic sean-lee randolph and 26-year- old dion jermaine vaccaro. they believe those two men were involved in the murder of dennis wright at the beverly lodge in january. last week.. 18-year-old tristan batten and 20- year-old harvest

arrested... for their alleged involvement in the murder. ## a lyon county jury has acquitted a silver springs man-- on two of three charges, in the death of a 2-year-old boy. cody wallace was found not guilty of first degree murder, and manslaughter. but the jury returned a guilty verdict-- for child abuse, with substantial bodily harm. the charges stem from a 2010 incident, when wallace was left alone with his girlfriend's son. wallace called 9-1-1, and said the boy stopped breathing. the boy later died. wallace faces 2-to-20 years---- he'll be sentenced this spring. ### breaking at this hour... new details about a deadly shooting spree in the last hour investigators have confirmed the arrest of a woman they say gave the shooter the guns used in the attack. a vigil in honor of the victims has just concluded. the sheriff says he believes a restraining order served 90 minutes

38-year-old cedric ford to go on the rampage. elizabeth hur reports. one day after the latest mass shooting in this country left 3 dead and 14 injured... the sheriff in harvey county kansas says there's one reason why the gunman didn't claim more victims. "the only reason he stopped shooting is because that officer stopped the shooting." as many as 300 people were inside the excel industries factory.. when investigators say cedric larry ford.. armed with an assault rifle and a handgun.. began firing. "the gun was strapped to him. he was ready to go." ford had already shot and wounded three people before he entered the plant. the bloodshed.. ending with ford shot and killed in a gun battle with the first police officer on the scene... the heston police chief. "that particular officer his a hero." ford's shooting rampage.. ranged across some 6 miles and 3 locations.. believed to be sparked after ford was served with a restraining order at work.. just 90 minutes before the first shooting.

information anytime with the kolo 8 news now mobile app. it's a free download for apple and android devices. ### the funeral for nevada senator debbie smith will be this weekend. the service will be at sparks high school on sunday at noon. smith died, last sunday from brain cancer. her family is asking that instead of flowers, donations be made in her name-- to the doctor marnie rose foundation, which supports brain tumor research. the democrat was first elected to the state assembly in 2000-- and won a seat in the senate, in 2012. she was 60-years-old. ### two incline village bartenders were arrested on drug charges in separate undercover operations. investigators say deputies with the washoe county sheriff's "a-tac" or all threats all crimes unit arrested both suspects. juan lepe was arrested february 10th at rookies sports bar and grill. nicholas webber was arrested february 19th at the village pub. deputies say the

"we are taking some of that water right now at our chalk bluff treatment plant... treating that and injecting that back into the ground." nats - well door open.

"last year we did about 4,000 acre feet." that's a savings of one point three billion gallons of water. enough for a eight thousand house holds. we do. let's go." these oscars you see right here, right now, will be on stage next month. this is our hand-casting department. we start with a bare metal and melt it between five and six hundred degrees. he ladles each one individually into a steel mold. the next process in manufacturing the oscar is where we remove the gate that we use for casting. our company was started in 1938 and we've been producing our own molds for casting since then. the next step in refining our oscar statuette is removing all the parting lines from the molding process. this allows us to refine the surface to ensure he looks as perfect as possible.

this is where we take our statues that have been sanded and ground and bring them to a mirror finish. everything we do with oscar is done entirely by hand. here we are in our engraving department. this is where louise white, who's been engraving our oscars since the early eighties, actually puts a serial number on every one of them. we take oscar from his raw state, where he's been polished to a mirror finish, and we electroplate him through five different baths, bringing him to a 24-carat gold finish. here we are in final assembly. this is where oscar gets assembled before
