"we have 3 officers that have been shot." su bridge: it was here in this quiet, upscale neighborhood, rookie cop ashley guindon and two other officers approached that front door?police say almost immediately they were confronted by the suspect who opened fire. and they all went down> sot zach harris: "i saw the officer lying on the ground, shot in the leg." neighbor zach harris.. saying he heard 3 gunshots.. police.. identifying the suspect as army staff sergeant ronald hamilton?assigned to the pentagon. investigators saying.. hamilton's wife.. was found dead inside the home? his 11 year old son.. also home but not hurt. the two other officers are expected to recover.. now.. officer guindon's squad car.. draped in black.. to honor the rookie.. lost too soon. looklive tag:

court tomorrow.. and faces two murder charges. the county prosecutor telling us.. he will likely seek the death penalty. tom? california police say three people were stabbed during a ku klux klan anti-immigration rally in anaheim over the weekend -- after a fight broke out with a group of counter protesters. they say seven people from the counter protester group are now in custody because they were seen attacking the klansmen at the rally with wooden posts. during the fight klan members stabbed three of the counter protesters with a knife and the end of a flag pole. the klansmen were arrested but later released because it was determined they were acting in self defense. the third time was not the charm for the private space company space-x. the company called off the launch of its falcon-nine rocket last night after two similar cancellations in recent days. space-x says on its website the rocket and its payload are fine. but its not saying why the launch was scrubbed again. one of the previous launches was canceled because of problems

the rocket carries a satellite that would bring internet and phone access to millions of people in asia. president obama will award the nation's highest military honor today to a navy seal who helped rescue a u-s hostage in afghanistan. senior chief, edward byers junior, took part in a risky mission to save a doctor kidnapped by the taliban back in december of 2012. according to reports, byers shielded the man from gun fire, while pinning a guard against the wall with his hand, until other seals arrived. byers will be the 11th living service member to receive the medal of honor for actions in afghanistan. nevada attorney general, adam laxalt is voicing opposition to president obama's e-p-a clean power plan. laxalt says states should have a right to decide pollution emission standards for themselves and he believes the e-p-a is exceeding it's statutory authority in efforts to implement the president's plan. some environmentalists criticized laxalt's stance saying he was choosing the interests of out-of-state coal corporations over the health of communities and the climate.

weighed in saying that laxalt was quote "simply offering his legal opinion." university of nevada president, marc johnson says the university plans to hire up to 4- hundred new faculty members by 20-20. he says the school will be able to fund the positions because of the university's record enrollment last year of almost 21-thousand students. university officials will meet with the nevada system of higher education in march to discuss whether to ask the legislature to fund 1-hundred of those jobs. a new overflow shelter for the homeless will be opening this week. the city of reno says the shelter will house homeless men and women when the community assistance center shelters are full. the new shelter will be open year round and house up to 1-hundred people.

disneyland in california and walt disney world in florida have started demand-based pricing.

three different prices -- depending on the time of year -- for a single day park ticket. the calendar will be divided into value, regular and peak periods. a value one-day pass at disneyland will drop to 95-dollars. a regular pass will rise to 105 dollars. the price will then shoot up to 112 dollars on peak days. disney hopes its "surge pricing" will -- quote -- "help spread out visitation." how would you like bigger seats on your next flight? new york senator chuck schumer is trying to make it happen. he's adding an amendment to the f-a-a reauthorization bill that would require the agency to establish seat size standards for commercial airlines. he says airlines have been slowly cutting down legroom and seat width on planes forcing passengers to quote - 'sit on planes like sardines.' he says the distance between seats on a plane have dropped from 35 to 31-inches over the last 40 years. and seat widths have

20 maltese dogs were rescued from a puppy mill in silver springs in december -- and now they're looking for good homes. the dogs - ranging in age from four months to ten years - showed signs of neglect. officials with the reno tahoe rescue society say a lot of these dogs had been mistreated for years -- but they've come a long way in the past two months. two have already been adopted and the rest are waiting to find the right homes. rebecca kitchen is live with the details. good morning ..... the shooting happened here at siri's casino in downtown reno... here on virginia street near the arch.... reno police tell us it happened just before midnight..... inside the casino.... what exactly led to the shooting is still under investigation, but i was told the two men were having some sort of argument.... we haven't been told if one of the men was an employee.... or if they were both customers.... the victim has been taken to the hospital... and his condition is unknown at this time.... police tell us the shooter is in custody and they are not looking for anyone else at this time.... the casino is closed to the public right now... but is expected to open back up later this morning. ... good morning ..... the shooting happened here at siri's casino in downtown reno... here on virginia street near
