slopes. officials from the resort say the 62 year old woman was skiing in the 'head wall' area when she fell and slid through some trees they say she was wearing a helmet, but suffered multiple injuries. the body of a missing ski instructor who went missing at sugar bowl resort over a month ago-- has been found. carson may disappeared january 15th while skiing. rescuers found him yesterday under 5 feet of snow at the very spot where his cell phone last pinged. ben dee-cee deci has more on the tragic end to the search. 5 grueling days of searching... in harsh winter conditions. all the while there was hope. but as that while turn into a long while, searchers were also realistic about how it might end. our winter got off to a great start... bringing us above average snowfall.

behind. hydrologists are hoping that history repeats itself... in terms of a a miracle march. "in 2013 we were just done. it shut off after january 1st and we were done. but other years, even in 95 which was about our significant dry spell in there about this time of year, and we thought we were done and then march came and we just got pounded." currently... our snowpack is at 96- percent of normal. which would be great news if we weren't trying to recover from a drought. last month's water content of the sierra nevada snowpack measured 130 percent of normal. fortunately the snow has not been melting in areas like the mount rose summit. water managers say they're focused on the april 1st snowpack, when it's historically at its deepest. they say the snowpack needs be 150 percent of normal, signaling an

backlash for a supposed endoresment from former ku klux klan leader david duke. duke reportedly told the media that he supports trump because he shares his views on immigration, but his comment wasn't an endoresment. during a c-n-n interview trump was asked why he wouldn't disvow duke's endoresment. trump avoided the question, saying he couldn't hear it because of a bad earpiece. rival candidate, marco rubio didn't believe trump's excuse. presidential candidate he blamed it on a bad earpiece, that he couldn't hear the question, i don't care how bad the earpiece is, ku klux klan comes through pretty clearly and he refuses to criticize it. trump later said he doesn't mind disavowing david duke -- and in fact disavowed him during a news conference on friday. nevada's 'first in the west' status is likely to stay, due to the results of this year's republican caucus. according to reports, the republican caucus drew about 75-hundred people out to vote -- that's twice as many voters as in 2012. this year's results were also final within hours. and there were no

either the democratic, or the republican caucuses. even though other western states are eyeing nevada's 'first in the west' status, right now, its unlikely another state will take the coveted spot. the final batch of e- mails from hillary clinton's tenure as secretary of state has been released. that makes makes nearly 55-thousand pages of e-mails reviewed by the state department... with nearly 21-hundred messages containing information that is now classified. the fbi is still investigating whether clinton broke any laws by using a private server....which has allowed clinton's rivals to use the possibility of an indictment as ammunition in the presidential race. supreme court justice clarence thomas asked a question during oral arguments last week. if you are wondering why that's news -- thomas hasn't spoken during oral arguments in a decade. the case concerns whether a prior domestic assault conviction will keep someone from possessing a firearm.

are reporting the state's second confirmed case of zika virus in a woman who traveled to a zika- affected area when she was pregnant. they say she tested positive for the virus in spokane. the main concern surrounding zika is its link to birth defects, including a condition called microcephaly, which results in babies born with abnormally small heads. health officials say the woman's baby tested negative for the virus at birth and showed no health problems linked to the zika virus -- which include red eyes a rash, fever or joint pain. health officials in clark county have declared a syphilis outbreak in las vegas. they say reported cases are up 128 percent since 2012. the outbreak makes nevada's syphilis rate the highest in the west. health officials say a majority of the cases involve men. the spike in cases is being linked to the rise in testing, less consistent use of condoms and social media. experts are blaming smartphone apps in particular because they can be used to find a

the knitting factory is closing, but you can still see your favorite artists at the same spot.
