"it is a mistake of immune system. it is our problem, not plants problem." doctor boris lokshin explains... sneezing... watering eyes... and a scratchy throat... are all the result of over-active immune system. "it looks at pollen as an invading agent of some sort and it is trying to, essentially, kill it." the more pollen in the air... the more likely you are to be affected. "plants are responding to increasing day length and warmth and that moisture that we have gotten... they are waking up and they are doing their thing which includes reproduction which includes pollen." lisa braginton at moana nursery says... it's mainly been trees that have been starting to bloom. "some of the plants that producing a lot of pollen... people might not even notice." this peach tree is producing pollen. this elm... another big culprit... and juniper... producing about 30-percent of the pollen right now. "our native junipers will start producing a lot of pollen. relying on those early winds to to help carry that pollen around." back at allergy and asthma associates... her body-- buried under snow last friday. the cause of death has not been determined, but investigators don't suspect foul play. ### the skier killed at squaw valley over the weekend is identified as 62-year-old elizabeth danel. resort officials say danel fell while sking in the headwall area on saturday. she was wearing a helmet when she slid through a stand of trees. ski patrol says danel was unconscious and unresponsive when they arrived. they began c-p-r, but were unable to save her.### an allegiant airlines flight made an emergency landing in elko yesterday. the plane was headed from mesa arizona to bellingham washington. according to the elko daily free press.... the plane was forced to land because of an electrical odor inside the plane. the airline says the plane landed safetly and there were no injuries. ### highway researchers say there -is a correlation between the economy and traffic deaths. the better the economy? more people tend to die in car crashes. kolo 8 news now's terri russell has been

terri, the national safety council says it's seeing an increase in deadly traffic crashes. the n-s-c says 2000-15 was the deadliest year since 2000-seven. but it can't all be blamed on a good economy. if you've noticed there are more cars on the road these days, its not an isolated event. a better economy means more cars are on the road as people travel to and from work. lower gas prices, too, have more people traveling down the road. that means an increase in the chances of getting into a car wreck. but the national safety council says there's another culprit. cell phones. russell:" drinking and driving was not cool, and now talking on the cell phone is not as cool. do you think it will eventually get to that level? officer tim broadway/reno police department: hopefully not, especially with once again, the advances in technology with automobiles having the integrated blue tooth. here at the intersection of kietzke and mill we saw several people on their phones. a survey on at and t last may showed 70-percent of those respondents said they used

between apple and the f-b-i over the san bernardino terror suspect's i-phone played out on capitol hill today. the house committee hearing came just one day after a ruling from a federal judge in new york in a separate case. as elizabeth hur reports... that court says apple does not have to help the federal government unlock an iphone at the center of a drug case. from the courthouse to capitol hill.. rep. darrell issa, r-ca: "you're expecting someone to obey an order to do something they don't want to do, and you haven't even figured out if you the case pitting apple center stage in washington.. bruce sewell, apple attorney: "should the fbi be allowed to stop apple, or any company, from offering the american people the safest and most secure product it can make?" james comey, fbi director: "essentially, take the guard dog away.. we'll pick that lock." the fbi insisting.. they're not asking apple to create a so-called magic key.. maintaining

just one iphone belonging to one of the san bernardino shooters.. for clues. james comey: "is there somebody else?.. that is our job." apple has already asked the courts to have this case thrown out.. arguing.. unlocking that one phone compromises the security of millions of others. tim cook, apple ceo: "the only way to get information-- would be to write a piece of software that we view as sort of the software equivalent of cancer." in a similar but unrelated case.. a judge in new york ruled on monday that apple cannot be compelled to help the department of justice fbi unlock an iphone. that ruling has no affect on this case but experts call it a legal victory for apple. that could help the tech giant.. moving forward. also weighing in today.. is attorney general loretta lynch from a cyber security conference.. saying for the victims and the public.. the government must do everything under the law to fully investigate terrorist attacks. elizabeth hur, abc news, new york.

released the will and personal letters of osama bin laden. they were recovered during the 2011 raid on bin laden's compound in pakistan, where he was killed. in the documents...bin laden claimed to have 29-million dollars in sudan. but the whereabouts of that money is unknown. in a letter from 2008, bin laden wrote, "if i am to be killed, pray for me a lot and give continuous charities in my name." his letters also include warnings to the u-s and advice to al qaeda's affiliates. the intelligence community expects to release more documents later this year, after they have been declassified. ### super tuesday polls are closing across the country. we're tracking the race for the white house minute-by-minute... during the biggest day of the election so far. plus... trouble for a homeless shelter in northern nevada. the plan to find new housing as soon as
