spooked passengers. last night, reports of a gunman sent panic passengers running on to the tarmac. police rushed to the scene but now report there were only loud noises, no gunshots at all. the source of the noise is unknown. flights to and from the airport were delayed, though. and a person wearing a zorro costume was detained. he told cbs news he is an actor and was at the airport to pick somebody up a take his costume off. he was wearing a mask and fake sword. this morning, forecasters are watching two weather systems expected to impact the southeast united states. one tropical depression formed in the atlantic and reach north carolina's outer banks tomorrow with sustained per hour and it's expected to produce 1 to 3 inches of rain. the other storm is moving through the florida straits and expected to produce rain across southern florida and the keys before moving into the gulf of mexico. folks in western pennsylvania hope to dry out today. yesterday, storms produced heavy rain and local flooding in

roads were shut and drivers were stranded. at least four people had to be rescued but no one was seriously injured. there was flooding throughout the cincinnati area yesterday. at one point, power was out to more than 12,000 residents and some schools are closed today. the driver of a bus who slammed into a fire truck in southern louisiana is being charged with negligent homicide. two people were killed, including a fire chief. the bus was taking flood recovery wke the fire truck was on the scene of a previous accident. the bus hit the fire truck and then slammed into another car and a passenger in the rear seat was killed. in northwest louisiana, police are searching for three escaped convicts. they escaped from prison nag a desche on saturday night.

rolls of razor wire. now two were serving time for robbery. one for attempted murder. they should be considered dangerous. san francisco 49ers quarterback colin kaepernick says he'll continue sitting during the national anthem until he sees significant change in this country's race relations. kaepernick was spotted sitting during the anthem before the 49ers played a preseason game against green bay friday. he refused to stand at san francisco's two other preseason games as well. >> there's a lot of things that need to change. one specifically is police brutality. there is pe unjustly and not being held accountable. cops are getting paid leave for killing people. that's not right. that's not right by anyone's standards. >> the nfl says players are encouraged, but not required, to stand during the playing of the national anthem. passengers on a southwest airlines jet forced to make an emergency landing after one of its engines exploded are praising the crew. southwest flight 3472 was en

orlando saturday when there was a major engine malfunction. it made an emergency landing in pensacola, florida. kris van cleave reports. >> reporter: passengers say it started with a loud boom and the smell of smoke. when they looked out their windows, they saw this. the leading edge of the metal casing around the number one engine was ripped away, exposing the fan blades of this 16-year-old southwest airlines boeing 737. >> it was shaking and that sound. >> yeah, just like blew. >> then there was that rattling after it. >> reporter: these two were among the 99 passengers and five crew on the flight heading to new orleans to orlando saturday morning. >> the person across of us was crying, saying he was going to die. everybody trying to calm everybody down. >> reporter: oxygen masks

damaged engine flew off and struck the plane, gouging the fuselage and forcing an emergency landing in pensacola, florida. >> this is a tried and true engine and tried and true airplane and very bad uncontained failure. >> reporter: steve wallace is the former head of the faa's office of investigation. this is really unusual? >> a modern airline pilot starting today could fly a 35-year career and never experience a single-engine failure. >> reporter: the flight landed safely. tammy richards and her family were sitting along the wing. >> pilot, he was amazing. southwest has amazing pilots. he saved our lives. >> reporter: airliners are designed to fly safely on one engine. so far, no reports of any damage on the ground. ntsb investigators arrived on scene and have started inspecting the aircraft. southwest said it is not planning fleet-wide engine checks.
