4:30 and 5:00 hour. she saw a disabled sheik she decided to render help and unfortunately four people, including a minor and some young adults came out of the car and started punching her and assaulting her, robbed. took her money, wanted to take her car and the four teens the adults they went through the neighb. police and two mesa police. the woman we believe to the hospital. again a sad situation off the camera. we're having a spokesperson come out and talk to us and brief us in on this particular situation overall a very sad situation where the woman was headed home from work at the 4:00 hour and then decided to help some people who were off

unfortunately they were not in need of helm but decided to rob or take her money. try to take her car and then punching her in the face several times and assaulting her before finally taking off on foot. they have been arrested by th agencies involved. dps. tempe and mesa. we'll have more details as they are available. and for tempe. cbs5 news. and punished for doing the right thing. >> unbelievable. we'll follow the story. the family of a couple charged with killing 23 dogs is asking for help. they were sentenced this months to 60 days in jail. that stems from the june 2014 incident when those animals died in a overheated room at

after her smoke alarm woke her up. >> the homeowner is shaken up. she was taking a nap. the alarms went off. she came out of the house. this is a great time of year. we're getting into the winter months t is a great time to make sure the batteries are working and change the batteries. the homeowner suffered burns to her arm and will be okay. sadly, though the cats did not survive that fire. and was alcohol involved in an accident in glendale, that's what the police are looking to find out this morning. >> police say two cars were driving side by side when it collided near 67th avenue and northern. the car pushed straight into a poll there and all three rushed to the hospital. one person was killed, the other two are expected to make a full recovery after the accident. no one hurt, though when

collided. no patients -- patients were inside a couple of people did suffer some minor injuries it had to be shut down as the police investigated it is up and running for you this morning. >> in the morning the deputies are looking into whether a shooting was dange rerated. an argument turned into a gun fight from a church. no one hurt in the shooting. several le detained there and questioned by the police. it's not something that you hear about every day but a turkey is behind bars in peoria. the police department tweeted out this right here. these are the pictures of the jail bird and hopes of finding the owner. someone found it in the yard near 75th avenue and thunderbird. anyone with information about who this bird belongs to should call peoria animal control.

6:23 now the search for a gun man who shot and killed five people at a mall ended with an arrest. theres have aletted arcan cetin video show he whacked into a macy's store a rifle. >> and they ran for lives. family. they don't know the that shooting. and and one of the victims was a 16-year-old cancer survivor. and eight people, including a 3-year-old girl and her fath were hurt in a shooting last night. officers believed that the three suspects were involved as part of a retaliation for another shooting that left a

southern. the woman was punched in the face repeatedly. >> she was and she was headed home from work during the overnight hours when she decided to pull over and help what she believed to be a disabled car. there were two women and two men inside of the car. they came out of that car as she came out of her car. as you mentioned they started immediately assaulting her, hitting her and punching her in the face, we video from the camera that was over that specific area. can you still see what is left there. the woman we're told was headed home from work. and she pulled over to help those people who she thought were in distress and needed help. they decided to punch her in the face. the four suspects took off on

responded. they were arrested by the police in the and area. some of the suspects even went up to several homes in the knocking on doors. they were nabbed by the police department. the four suspects have been arrested. we're assuming that some of the charges will include theft and they tried to take her vehicle we're told they told her to give up her keys but she did not give up the keys. not sure that's why they decided to punch her in of her money that she had on her at the time of pulling over and trying to the temmy mesa area. >> that's scary out there. this weekend the sheriff and his posse are out on a patrol and going door to door making sure sex offenders are where they are going to be.
