. we begin with breaking news tonight at 6:00 a woman and two children have been rushed to the hospital after being hit by a car. this is a live look of the scene near 35th avenue and dunlap. the police tell us they range from eight months to 15 years old. they're condition. the driver did remain at the scene and the investigation is ongoing. a gas leak has shut down an intersection and forced evacuation of some businesses in the area. phoenix fire crews are working with southwest gas to get control of the leak no injuries have been reported. a man has been found crushed underneath his car in chandler. officers are on the scene now

boulevard. the bliss believe the 55-year- old was doing mechanical work when it fell on him. sadly we're told the man did not survive. and the police just arrested the man responsible for a deadly stabbing last night. the officers spotted the 38- year-old near 12th avenue and hatcher. they say he matches the description of the suspect accused of killing a 36-year- old man. coho is now face second-degree murder charge. the controversial new dolphin park opens, and the folks behind the aquarium say dolphins thrive in captivity but the protest ors say this is -- protesters say this is cruel. >> we show you the polarizing viewpoint. >> dolphins deserve freedom just like we do. >> i think there are a few people who are misinformed. >> show your love for dolphins by not supporting the capture.

through the pacific northwest. i'll tell you what they're going to bring to our area coming up. >> thank you. tonight the police are trying to find out if alcohol contributed to a deadly crash on the border between phoenix and glendale. fourteens were rushed to the hospital last night after their car and this truck collided near 59th avenue and camelback. the two people in the front of the car, a 17-year-old girl and a 16-year-old boy died at the hospital. the third teen is still recovering at the hospital with serious injuries. our camera was police took the 27-year-old truck driver, put him in handcuffs. we're still working to find out if that person will be charged or if anyone has been officially arrested here. right now the police need your help to put this guy behind bars. he is accused of holding up not one, but two circle ks here in the valley. we show you how you can help catch this crook. this is the video police want you to see. they hope you recognize the man

he is toting a black pack back while robbing a circle k in phoenix. the clerk enh.h. crook entered the -- crook entered the store and robbed a circle k clerk at gun point telling the employees to stash the register cash in his backpack and then he took off. a week later the police say the same man robbed a circle k near broadway, which is not too far away from that first circle k. the man is described as old, 5'1", 180 pounds with black hair, brown eyes and a goatee. but it may be his tattoos that really help identify him. >> fortunately for us we have some good descriptions, so we know that someone's name is tattooed on the left side of his neck and on his right arm near the bicep there is a big tattoo. [ just because he robbed the two stores doesn't mean he got away with much money. they do tell us you could walk

kingpin el whicho could be in a u.s. courtroom as early as next year. a security commissioner revealed that joaquin guzman is expected to be extradited to america in january and february. he was wanted in california and texas for drug trafficking and murder. >> a disappointing ruling for a family of those killed in sandy hook a connecticut judge has dismissed a lawsuit that families of the shooting victims filed against a gun manufacturer. the judge says it is the law to sue a gun maker if their weapon is used in a crime. adam lanza killed over 20 at the school and the families say they plan to appeal. >> the people don't know how difficult a situation they're about to enter when the water clears. not only is the atlantic coast dealing with flooding, but tonight officials confirm two more deaths after hurricane matthew.

floodwaters in north carolina. the state's death toll has now increased to 26, and the nation's death toll is now 43. hurricane matthew passed through last week and dumped more than a foot of rain in eastern north carolina. right now some wild weather is taking over parts of the u.s. on the left, heavy rain caused all of that flooding in portland last night. on the right, washington state. residents say they have never seen waves this big before. it is a after pacific typhoon. today's high tide in washington could easily turn damaging. and we're going to have more rain as they have another system that is going to be moving through. i wanted to start with our local weather and what we have been seeing. very dry conditions for us. 94 was the high. 89 is our seasonal average for this time of year. nowhere near the record today of 103 set back in 1991.

shows you just how dry the entire state is right now with a little bit of cloud cover that is out there for us. but otherwise we are not going to see much even though we're continuing to see the systems pounding the pacific northwest. we have rain now stretching from unin canada in vancouver all the way down -- up in canada in vancouver all the way down. this is one system. the second system is going to be impacting them in the overnight hours and all day on moving in and we'll see more of the moisture pushing from san francisco down into fresno, california and then some light showers expected tomorrow for the los angeles area as, again, if you're in phoenix, flagstaff, tucson, we are staying dry. the future cast as we head into tomorrow afternoon shows you a few high clouds that will be over the high country as we head into the afternoon. phoenix and tucson stay nice and clear and that's what we continue to see.

temperatures slightly cooling down heading into the start of the week. fair skies, nice and cool and an overnight low in the valley of 68 degrees. we will see 41 for flagstaff. 48 for show low and 69 for bull head city. the temperatures heading into tomorrow. we'll see 93 for us in the valley. we'll have winds out of the east. 66 in flagstaff. 75 for you in prescott. take a look at the n- 90s expected on monday and tuesday. a slight warm-up as we head into the midpart of the week. we are going the see our overnight temperature sitting in the mid to the upper 60s all week long. tonight the puck drops in glendale. they open their season facing off against the flyers while carson palmer and the cardinals get ready for a monday night showdown against the jets and at colorado, who was the
