good afternoon. thank you for joining us. we start with breaking news. a serious accident at 70th street. we flew over the search minutes ago. we saw a father and child being carried away on a gurney. there is the photos there. we are told four cars are involved here. four people have police are warning us thunder bird is closed 65th avenue to 75th avenue. it is likely to stay that way for hours. avoid this the area if you can. more protests in the streets after donald trump was elected president. several cities had large crowds march in protests. some even scuffling with police.

white house. >> reporter: anti-trump demonstrators staged another round of disruptive protests. police in portland oregon fired rubber bullets and arrested two dozen people. they declared the protests there a riot. after initially blaming the unrest on professional protesters incited by the media trump credited them morning for having passion for our country. he'll take the oath from office ten weeks from today. yesterday trump made his first visit to the white house before meeting with congressional republicans. house speaker paul ryan and mitch mcconnell will move quickly on long stalled republican policies. >> paul ryan has been slaving away producing tax reform ideas

>> reporter: trump's former opponent hillary clinton was spotted by a supporter hiking near her chappaqua, new york home. her told clinton taking her daughter to vote for her was one of her proudest moments as a mother. weijia jiang the white house. prop 205 has been called even though ballots remain uncounted. the short answer is that it is possible that the measure could pass. numbers show it unlikely. we reached out to the secretary of state's office about this. they said the measure is currently losing in maricopa county where is where all of the remaining votes need to be counted. there are 365,000 left. here are the latest numbers. prop 205 is losing by 81,000 votes. 52% voters say yes.

recover. a long standoff ended with a suspect in custody last night. police were called to an apartment near 19th avenue responding to a man with mental issues who barricaded himself. s.w.a.t. forced their way inside and arrested the man four hours later. the man was not hurt. police need your help catching guys who robbed a cell phone store in south phoenix. that happened at southern aven into the store and demanded cash from the register. one of them had a gun. and forced an employee into a storage room. that is when they grabbed the money and took off in a white dodge truck. police believe the drunk driver caused a series of crashes across two valley cities. a woman called 9-1-1 last night saying the driver behind her

and scottsdale road. when cops caught up with him in phoenix the driver pulled into a parking lot appeared to be cooperating and took off driving the runway, running a red light, slamming into an suv before hitting a patrol car. >> at that moment the suspect's vehicle was disabled. officers were able to arrest him after a combative incident. no officers were re complained of minor injuries. >> we are working to get the driver's name. so far it has not been released by police. someone stole six miss america crowns from a home in mesa. the crowns look like this one. gorgeous. delivered to a home in two packages. two thieves stole them. crowns are made up of pricy crystals.

the boxes. thieves took off in an older model dark green van. escaped prisoner on the run since last month is behind bars. he was in police custody at honor health osborn when he slipped his handcuffs and made a run for its. police say he carjacked a woman's suv and disappeared. officers caught up to him wednesday night when they say he tried to carjack another all this probably a first for police in glendale they were called out for a dang radioin -- kangaroo in the street. it like one. she is friendly. she let the children in the neighborhood pet her. she is back home today. i think the weather is so nice she wanted to go for a hop. >> a little frolic. chamber of commerce weather.

for the first time we are hearing from a valley teenager who almost lost her leg while she was pushing a stalled car. she was heading home last nounal when her car ran out of gas. she and a friend got out to push the car. another driver rear pinning the girls between the cars. she knew it was bad when she first heard her friend's reaction. >> she put her hand over her mouth and said oh my god looking at me. your legs are ruined. you are going to die. >> my goodness. frightening indeed. turns out that is not the case. after surgery doctors were able
