bus as recently as yesterday. anne makovec is in san francisco to tell us what's going on. good morning. >> reporter: good morning. we are expecting this driver to be officially fired today. but we have heard that from muni before. then yesterday, she is back behind the wheel of a muni bus. this is what happened over the last couple of months. the man who blew the whistle on the texting driver got on the 24 davisidero bus yesterday and says that he saw the same driver that he caught on this video back in february texting and driving. he said she got irate when she noticed him recording her and threatened to kick her off the bus. he gave the video to muni officials who recommended she be fired. then this guy thought he saw her yesterday and cbs 5 confirmed it with muni officials. >> oh, my goodness. are you kidding me? it was her, then. i knew it was her.

you know? and i called them and they said no, she couldn't possibly be driving. i am so upset right now. i can't believe that. >> reporter: muni director of transit operations says that driver will be fired. he is not sure if yesterday was the only time she was driving a bus in recent days and he says he will hold some people in management accountable for all this. this isn't the first time that we have heard of some shady activity behind the wheel for muni drivers. we have heard of a driver sleeping on the train, somebody getting off the bus to get snacks. obviously, some bad apples in the bunch, as there are in every industry. but now we are just waiting for muni to officially take action against this driver. frank and elizabeth. >> so this guy that recorded her a few weeks ago actually got on the same bus and saw her driving again, is that right? >> reporter: yes. can you say awkward, frank? [ laughter ] >> reporter: they had gotten into this altercation a few weeks ago and she threatened to kick him off the bus and she knew he was taping her and

suddenly here they are face to face again. he said it was very awkward. >> i can only imagine. okay, anne makovec live in san francisco, thank you. well, if you thought $5 was bad, get ready for serious sticker shock. 6 bucks for a gallon of gas. some industry analysts say it will happen this summer. by some estimates, the weakness of the dollar overseas already accounts for a third of what we pay at the pump today. >> so as the u.s. dollar continues to slide versus other international currencies, we are going to see the price of crude oil going up. >> and if there is a hurricane or other event which impacts domestic gas production it will make the problem worse. president obama wants to find out if criminal activity could be to blame for the high gas prices. he ordered the justice department to look for any fraud or manipulation in the oil markets. national average for a gallon of regular is $3 .84. that is 30 cents higher than a month ago and almost a dollar

more than a year ago. arizona senator john mccain is now in libya to meet with rebels trying to oust that country's leader moammar qaddafi. mccain arrived a few hours ago in the rebel stronghold of benghazi. referring to the rebels as his heroes, mccain is the top republican on the senate armed services committee and was an early advocate for u.s. military action in libya. u.s. predator drones are now providing 24-hour combat air patrols over libya. the white house said yesterday that president obama has authorized use of the unmanned aircraft. nato is still running the overall operation against forces loyal to qaddafi. but anti-qaddafi rebels say nato air strikes have not been very effective. the bodies of two journalists killed in misrata will be taken out of libya today. tim hetherington and chris hondros were killed yesterday while covering violence in the

city. they were hit by a rocket- propelled grenade. 4:35 now. this morning a big shake-up at pg&e. peter darby, the corporate executive and president will retire on april 30 and announced that pg&e referenced what has been a challenging year. that year of course including the deadly san bruno explosion. darby will get a retirement package worth almost $35 million. gunfire nearly killed a teenager. this morning another teen is in custody accused of pulling the trigger. the shooting erupted in broad daylight yesterday afternoon on 26th and adeline in west oakland. an oakland rapper known as miss sta fab tweeted the 14-year-old cousin. the suspect is a juvenile arrested for firearms possession. she said she was only trying to get home but this morning a mother of five is facing child cruelty and

prostitution charges. 25-year-old jill mcveigh was arrested in a sex sting in oakland this week after police say she solicited an undercover officer. officers later found her one month old twins in a nearby car with a window cracked. it happened on the stretch of international boulevard in oakland where there's been a surge in prostitution. >> you know, you have to ask yourself, how many times has this occurred prior to us intervening? is this going on routinely? is there a culture like this? that's why this is bigger than one particular incident. this is something that we have to really examine. >> mcveigh told officers she left the babies because she was trying to make enough cash to drive to stockton where her three other children live with family. people in san carlos are being warned to lock their doors and windows after recent home burglaries there. the san mateo county sheriff's department says two homes were burglarized early this month in an area west of el camino real.

in each case the burglars broke in through an unlocked window that were not in view of the street. in another case someone removed a screen but appeared to abandon the home after discovering the window was locked. all right. time now is 4:38. time for another quick look at traffic and weather. >> yeah. i guess we'll go men first in this case because lawrence has kind of a shaky forecast for us after delivering in a big way yes. >> it is. this is one of those forecasts that you worry about toward the easter weekend and, of course, some folks worried about sunrise services. and yeah, this weekend there is a chance we could see a couple light showers. out there right now doesn't look too bad, but look what's off the coast. you have clouds making their way toward the bay area. more of that this afternoon throughout the day today. right now a chilly 40 degrees in napa, 47 in pacifica and 45 in redwood city. i think by the afternoon, still going to squeeze in lots of 60s around the bay area so maybe not quite as warm as yesterday

but still nice. 65 in san jose. 64 fairfield. 65 degrees in concord and a cool 59 in pacifica. looking out over the next couple of days through the easter weekend, yup, we have a lot of clouds moving in over the weekend. mostly cloudy skies throughout your weekend. slight chance of showers mainly to the north but that could include sunday morning. then we dry out toward monday. looks like more sunshine returns warmer weather as we look toward the middle of next week. let's check traffic with gianna. it's official friday light out there so hopefully it will stay that way. live at the bay bridge toll plaza, not a lot of cars on the road yet. metering lights are off. clear across the upper deck into san francisco. we have a few roadwork problems to worry about. north 101 between tenet and dunn avenue right lane shut down but that will wrap up by 5:00. northbound 85 ramp to highway 87 also closed. expect it to open within the next 20 minutes and you will see some slightly slower speeds. we have debris southbound 280

>> thank you. it is 4:42 now. the father of a teenaged boy shot and killed by a friend struggled through tears to say he wants justice for his son 16- year-old andy zeng found shot to death last week in his san francisco home. his 15-year-old friend now charged with that murder. zeng's grieving father says he doesn't believe a defense attorney's claim that the shooting was accidental. andy zeng and the boy accused of killing him were among children who grew one a lot of parental support. that's because first generation immigrants often work long hours so teens are left unsupervised which can lead to trouble according to a young man who now works at the ymca. >> i have seen the fights before, you know, like really not that surprising teens don't know what to do. >> they need adult supervision. they need someone to help them

navigate through everything. >> the teen director at the y in chinatown says 90% of the kids in her program are from first generation immigrant parents. new information this morning about the planned treasure island transformation. the proposal to build a whole new neighborhood there is moving forward. late last night, san francisco's planning commission advanced the massive $1.5 billion redevelopment. it includes thousands of residential units, a high-rise, transit, even a shopping area. critics worry about extra traffic on the bay bridge. the proposal now heads to the board of supervisors. commuters who use the golden gate transit system will likely have to pay more starting in july. today the board of supervisors is expected to approve a five- year plan. bus fares would increase 5% each year. sausalito ferry service would initially go up by $1 and another 50 cents each year after that. larkspur ferry service would rise by 50 cents at first, then a quarter every year afterwards. today is a double holiday.

dues, where's our change ♪ >> singers interrupted president obama before he left san francisco yesterday. as you heard, they broke into song as he spoke inside the saint regis hotel. they called for the release of army private bradley manning, who is in jail accused of turning over classified government data to wikileaks. all the singers were paid guests. one woman said she paid about $77,000 just to be escorted out by secret service. it is 4:50 now. u.s. senator john ensign plans to resign effective early next month. the nevada republican releasing a statement saying he will turn in a letter to the vice president joe biden today making his resignation plans official. ensign is a subject of an investigation by the senate ethics committee. he admitted to having an affair with a former campaign staffer and is accused of helping that woman's husband then line up a lobbying job. he had today is good

dump over the top of that ridge bring clouds and slight chance of showers to the north. we have to watch it closely overnight saturday night into sunday morning of course easter sunrise services could be affected. how about this? you have 65 degrees and a lot of clouds in your skies in san jose today. about 64 in milpitas. you have cool 50s at the coastline in pacifica. and daly city. i think the east bay should see some mild temperatures especially inland. maybe as high as 66 in brentwood, 65 in pittsburg and about 64 in danville. as you get in toward oakland about 62 degrees. north bay temperatures should be up into the 60s. clouds making their way across the skies there today becoming mostly cloudy as we head in toward the afternoon. so looking out over the next few days, yup, a whole lot of clouds in the forecast. not much in the way of rain and i think again, a slight chance of showers here but most of that will be to the north. and we have to watch that overnight especially saturday night into sunday. there is a weak system that moves on through that could bring a couple of sprinkles here to the bay area. after that, looks like things are going to dry outcome monday

and by tuesday, well, we're talking about temperatures running up into the 70s once again so it looks like some nice weather after that. so as we head toward easter sunday, mostly cloudy skies, temperatures running in the 50s. at the coast, toward the valleys, many of those temperatures should be into the 60s. of course the easter bunny loves those temperatures in the 60s. all right. let's get a check of traffic now with gianna. >> thank you. good morning. let's start off with some troubles along 101 in the south bay. not an accident. it's roadwork. north 101 between tenet and dunn avenue right lane closed. hoping to re-open by 5:00 in the next few minutes. overall lots of green on 101. roadwork as well northbound 85 that ramp to 87 also closed until 5 a.m. and we have also got debris on south 280 and highway 87. they just wrapped up with the cardboard over to the right shoals. lots of green so no major delays through the south bay. eastbound 580 at flynn road
