national security team watched the mission play out in realtime. the military buried the al qaeda leader at sea. pentagon officials say a videotape of the event could be released soon to refute any claims that the body was not bin laden. >> it is going to be likely mounting pressure to prove that bin laden was killed especially now that there is no body. >> reporter: sources say the military also discovered a significant amount of data at bin laden's compound. intelligence officials are now digging through those documents searching for any new leads for attacks or high ranking members of al qaeda. joel brown, cbs 2 news. president obama plans to go to new york thursday to mark the death of bin laden, visit ground zero and meet with 9/11 victims' families. we are learning more about americans who pulled off the raid. they are the navy seal team 6 based in virginia they are

4:36 am
reach its lowest level in a quarter center because of a budget proposal unveiled by the city manager. kiet do joins us now from city hall with the tough details. good morning. reporter: the city manager released the budget and it is ugly. even in a best-case scenario where the city got all the paycuts they are asking for, we are looking at hundreds of lost positions which means we could city a repeat of this scene last year where firefighters were let go from the city's budget for the first time never san jose's history. they may do it again this year. the city in its tenth straight year of deficits and each year it gets worse. this time it's historic at $115 million. 588 positions could be cut. of those 588, 370 are actually aoffs. firefighters would lose 64 positions, five actual firefighters. and the police department would
4:37 am
be hit especially hard, 195 positions would be cut and 122 officers could be taken off the streets. that would be a first time in the city's history, as well. the mayor released a statement saying we cannot continue to cut services and lay off employees year after year. we must attack the root causes of our structural budget deficit so we can restore police and fire services, libraries and community center. as bad as it is, san jose's situation could get worse if retirement costs aren't brought under control. >> reporter: so those numbers that you saw there have to do with basically the city getting concessions and paycuts from all 11 of the city's unions. right now only four of the unions have agreed to paycuts. if they don't get on board and agree to these 10% paycuts, then the numbers you see could get worse. the clock is ticing. they must approve the budget by june 21. >> thank you, kiet do in san jose. let's check traffic and weather. we'll start with lawrence. >> did we hear 80?
