san francisco giants fan severely beaten in l.a. on baseball's opening day. elizabeth wenger is at san francisco general where he will arrive some time this morning. >> that's right. doctors told reporters and others at a press conference yesterday brian stowe is no longer in a medically induced coma but still in critical condition. the family spoke at that news conference yesterday, the stowe family said they leave l.a. with no ill feelings there were hugs, tears, gratitude for their new l.a. community. he was severely beaten walking through the parking lot of dodger stadium after the opening day game. for six weeks he has been at usc being treated for injuries to the right and left frontal lobes of his brain he is now stable enough to go home to the bay area he still remains in an unconscious state from time to time he is able the open his eyes the case has gotten

nationwide attention still no arrests billboards show sketches of the two suspects rewards for information is more than $100,000. stowes parents have been keeping vigil by his hospital bed they are thankful for the support they have gotten from strangers but his mom said he still has a very long way to go. we have no illusions it will be a long road to recovery, we are looking at over a year of rehab, so we are prepared. we are prepared to take that next step with brian. definitely. >> his care will continue here at san francisco general's neurosurgery unit specializes in traumatic brain injury. doctors are hopeful but as his mom said it will be a very long road they have to see where he is at a year from now. so again, he is scheduled to arrive here at san francisco general some time between 10:00 a.m.
