at the scene and another woman at the hospital. search is on for a missing hayward nursing student who vanished during class break. no one has heard from her since friday. linda owe. >> reporter: it is the last place friends and mass mates saw michelle lee, friday night she was in a nursing class. her plan was to pick up a friend and head to reno after class. she left around 7:00 p.m. but the friend waiting for her said lee never showed up and did not call to cancel the trip. investigators know she parked her car in the garage next to the medical center but found her 2010 honda crx a few blocks away, parked and locked police are getting a warrant to search the car. >> nothing points to foul play from the outside of the vehicle but we want to go inside the vehicle and check for papers,

receipts, notes, directions, anything that may lead us to michelle and where she might be. >> reporter: investigators tracked her cell phone to towers in fremont, union city oakland but she has not picked up any calls she lives in san mateo with a roommate and she has family members in san jose. >> we are interviewing people and trying to identify who is currently in her life both friends, boyfriends anybody she may have had an argument with. none of those things have come to light. >> reporter: it is early similar to another case involving a missing nursing student, 25-year-old phuong le went missing april 2010 fairfield her body turned up in rural napa county. >> one of our investigators talked to a fairfield investigator and there are similarities i understand that i don't believe we are heading in that direction that necessarily links the two. >> reporter: linda owe, cbs 5. san jose mother of five has been murdered police are

looking for help finding her killer. the 35-year-old was found shot to death inside her mercedes, saturday night. a wounded 20-year-old man who showed up at a nearby hospital may be connected to the case no names are being released. investigators still say witnesses have not been co- operative. police are looking for clues into the deadly stabbing of an 18-year-old man, he was attacked early saturday morning, a block away from a fatal shooting just a few days earlier. police are looking into possible connections between if two cases, lee just graduated wednesday from pegasus continuation high school. san jose's murder rate has already surpassed the total for the last five years, in 2011 already 25 homicides, there were only 20 in 2010 although that was the lowest total in decades. parole records for the man
