throughout the weekend. a little cooler today than yesterday. but close to seasonal. a little cooler in oakland and san francisco. i'll tell you if we'll warm up or cool down. first we have traffic. >> reports of an accident south 101 at millbrae and construction closure near tully in the south bay. back to you guys. >> thank you. we begin with a developing story. at least one person has suffered serious burns from a fire in oakley. >> we understand that fire is now at two alarms. there is a report that flames were shooting out the roof of the building. it's located at fourth and main streets. now, an ambulance has been called for a person suffering from third-degree burns. we'll have a live report from the scene coming up at 5:00. a huge break in the bryan stow beating case from los angeles. police have two new suspects in jail and now the man that they

first arrested, his name is cleared. stow remains in the hospital. anne makovec reports. >> reporter: stow here at san francisco general in serious condition. the latest on his condition is that he has been blinking his eyes and apparently was able to mouth his last name to doctors recently. meantime, the case unfolds down in los angeles. the last report we have heard last night was that the lapd was bringing in some new witnesses to identify these to new suspects. of course, bryan stow was beaten nearly to death in march after the game between the giants and the dodgers in l.a. that was the season opener. in may, police then named giovanni ramirez their prime suspect after his parole agent noticed tatoos similar to a suspect description. well, ramirez has been in jail for a parole violation but never officially charged in this case. when asked about the news that ramirez could be cleared and two others detained, stow's

family was guarded. >> no matter what happens on that side, you know, it's never going to really help bryan. will it possibly help someone else down the line? absolutely. we are really focusing on bryan trying to make himbe the best person he can be after such an ugly tragedy. >> reporter: this case has attracted national attention and police have sifted through dozens of leads in this case which they will continue to do, including the cell phone video showing stow in the park that day in what appears to be an argument with another fan but police are not saying what has led to these new arrests. in fact, they are not saying much at all. the information we are getting this morning is from the "los angeles times," of course, we have some feelers out to the lapd, but they are being very careful with their case this morning because of the fact that they may have made a mistake in the first naming of a suspect. but so far giovanni ramirez hasn't been officially cleared.

michelle le at the icon ultralounge in san francisco. she was last seen may 27 in hayward. police are treating it as a homicide investigation. a surprising twist in a deadly police shootout in san francisco's bayview. police now believe the suspect fatally shot himself. officials say that wound that actually killed 19-year-old kennedy harding of san francisco saturday was -- kenneth harding of seattle on saturday was self-inflicted. the bullet that killed harding was from a .380 handgun. >> there is one gunshot wound with enters and exits his left leg. there is a second gunshot wound that enters the right side of his neck and was retained in his head. the bullet which was removed from his head is not consistent with the service ammunition used by the san francisco police department. >> some residents are skeptical. they say that even though police now say they didn't kill

harding, the level of anger and frustration in the community is still high. meantime, police are offering a $1,000 reward for harding's weapon. they say this youtube video shows harding's gun on the ground. they believe this man in the gray hooded sweatshirt took it. bart has released security camera video from an officer involved shooting at a train statements charles hill a homeless man died after a confrontation with bart police in san francisco on july 3. now, that incident sparked protests by police critics. but bart police -- the police chief says that the officer fired after hill threatened police with a knife. >> the officer's mouth is moving, giving a command to mr. hill to drop his knife. >> rainey highlighted the path what i have says was a knife thrown at the officer. it struck the side of a bart train and slid across the floor. the flash from the officer's gun can be seen about the same

time. hill, though, is not seen in the video. the city of oakland is being sued for the police shooting death of derrick jones. he was killed by officers in november after they responded to a call that he had attacked his girlfriend. police chased jones to an alley near his barbershop. they say they shot him when he appeared to reach fire weapon. jones' family is suing the city and the two officers for $10 million. the california judicial council will hold a special session this morning to deal with a $350 million cut in state funding. the cuts will affect superior courts in all 58 of the state's counties. layoff notices have already been issued in san francisco where some court facilities will be closed. in santa clara county no closures are imminent. but plans for a new family courthouse in downtown san jose will likely be put on hold. disturbing new documents are revealing more about flawed wells in the pg&e pipe -- welds in the pg&e pipeline in san bruno. the ntsb documents show a small

segment of pipe near the portion that exploded also had weld defects. another document notes that short pieces of pipe that are bonded together can break apart more easily and not just in san bruno. investigators have been concerned about pg&e's pipe welds since september's deadly blast. had:38. most of the kun -- 4:38. most of the country is gripped in a heat wave, but we are close to seasonal today. >> never got as hot as the country, pleasant the last couple of days. a little deeper marine layer this morning and more cloud cover than we did yesterday. but temperatures overall are going to be pleasant today. warming up nicely by this afternoon. mid-90s. a little cooler inland. 70s around the bay shores and 60s at the coast. going to see some lingering cloud cover there into the afternoon. i'll tell you what the next several days in your forecast look like in just a little bit.

but let's go to gianna with a look at traffic. let's head to 101. we have an accident. one chp unit on scene. looks like a minor problem south one at millbrae. no lanes are blocked. everything is over to the right shoulder. traffic slow through the area. ongoing roadwork to report. this is the 101 closure in both directions between capitol expressway and the 280/680 interchange. this is for that ongoing tully improvement project. so that will be closed for the next four days consecutively. all the lanes will re-open at 5:30 this morning. so do plan for the closures they begin at midnight for the next three days or four days all the way until monday morning so heads up there. the rest of the south bay problem-free. no delays on the rest of 101. looks like things are clear 280 both directions, northbound looking good into downtown san jose. we'll check the bay bridge coming up. back to you. >> thank you. on to walnut creek. two homes went up in flames and a third was damaged in the area of creekdale and castle glen

bumping it up slightly so consistent temperatures over the next several days. roadwork to look out for as you work your way along the bay bridge both directions. first of all from the fourth street exit to the skyway, roadwork in that area various lanes blocked until 5:30 this morning. same goes for the upper deck. if you are coming from the cantilever section of treasure island there is roadwork there. hopefully wrapping it up in 20 minutes. traffic still okay despite those lanes being closed. coming off the golden gate bridge so far, so good. everything clear as you work your way up from the waldo tunnel to the toll plaza. roadwork along 101 in marin county. southbound seeing 16-minute ride from 37 to 580. that should clear up after 5:30. south 101 at millbrae we had an accident over to the right shoulder not a factor everything clear both directions on 101. you might see one chp unit on scene. elsewhere along the peninsula, 101 good towards the san mateo bridge. not bad at all both directions
