we have a developing story to tell you about. a search team looking for missing nursing student michelle le today has found what appears to be human remains. the remains were found at pleasanton sunol road and verona road around 10-30 this morning. ⤠this was the eighth search by volunteers of the niles can this is the eighth search of the niles canyon- sunol canyon area since michelle le disappeared six months ago. kcbs reporter tim ryan is live at the scene with the latest. tim. tim ryan, thank you.

reno police say nine people died -- when that world war two-era plane crashed into the v-i-p seats at the "national championship air races." seven people, including the pilot, killed on impact on the tarmac. police say 9 people died when the airplane crashed into the seats at the air races. several people killed on impact. two others died in the hospital. in all, 54 people were treated at area hospitals. 24 have been allowed to go home. the crash happened about 4:30 yesterday afternoon just north of reno. joe is there for us now. >> as we speak investigators are holding a news conference review -- revealing the latest details. they have part off the tail of the aircraft which could give them a clue into the crash. >> i just couldn't believe my eyes. >> brad was taking photos

watching as a vintage f 51 mustang began to climb and then plummeted to the ground and broke into a mill pieces. it rip thud the bodies of dozens of spectators up front. >> i saw so much material go flying through the air. i was just stunned. everybody was stunned. >> witnesses are calling jimmy a hero for ditching his plane on the tarmac. he avoided the grand stands. >> i think the pilot in the last two seconds pulled up because he saw the bleachers and probably saved 2 to 300 other people. >> what went wrong? they're on the scene trying to find out. they say video and photographs are going to help their efforts

speeds, jet speeds. >> a few minutes ago investigators said they'll be looking into the modifications but especially the broken tail that they described as a major focus right now. >> let me ask you, there was another air show crash this west virginia today and a pilot was killed this. the question of safety in general but in particular, 20 pilots have died in 47 years. are they going to be talking about whether or not to cancel this kind of event. >> that is the case. just a couple of years ago there were a succession of fatalities. that said, there are talks about whether this is too dangerous but it's a sensitive suspect because a it just happened, too soon and b, this is a major money maker, tens of

millions of dollars every year for the event. >> thank you very much. >> so we have developing news now out of the south bay. a major announcement in the carjacking and kidnapping case from yesterday with a gas station shooting. the suspect still at large. >> at a news conference that wrapped up an hour ago police confirmed the identity of a body found in the house of the kidnapped victim carjacked yesterday. they call on the public for help finding the suspect that they call extremely dangerous. >> our officers determined that it was the carjacking victim. >> the san jose police are calling it a one man crime spree and the body of an adult asian woman on north 12. a home with ties to the man

police say is responsible. they expect paul ray castio is a gunman. >> this is somebody we think is a violent criminal and need to get off the street. >> it led to a search. >> officers attempted to stop the vehicle. he excels towards and one of the officers fired in self- defense several times at the vehicle. the suspect fled on foot and we set up an perimeter and there was an 11 hour search that ended at 5:00 a.m. this morning without us being able to locate him. >> there had been speculation that the body is that of a real estate in campbell. her car was carjacked and he was kidnapped noon friday at the plant shopping center.

he called her office to say she was having trouble but that a latino man offered to help. she was not heard from again. an hour before that a man at a gas station was shot in the stomach when he didn't comply with orders to turnover has car. the man is extremely dangerous and should not be approached. >> this is serious when you have a person robbed an individual at gun point and then shoot him and turns around and an hour later kidnapped a second individual. so we definitely feel that he is a danger. >> police say they have an all out search and investigation going for him. they do want the public's help as we said but they warn do not approach him directly. they consider him a dangerous man. if anyone sees him they should do what the police say is the right thing and call 911. >> thank you very much.

only a week left before fall officially starts. mostly clear skies out there tonight and the flow sets up through the week here which means a warming trend is likely. as a mention, it is the end of the fall season -- fall officially starts on friday. we enjoy this weather pattern, though, through the week as we see temperatures warm in the mid to low 90s out across the interior. leading us with mostly sunny skies. temperatures topped out in the mid to low 80s for the hotspots today. upper 70s and mid 70s in the east bay with 81. 66 in the city and 65 over on the beach as we will again see a warming trend which will continue through the weekend and into next week as well with these inland temperatures probably not reaching triple digits but they will be in the mid 90s at least. fog season officially winding down here as we head into a

warm week and the beginning of fall. that starts on friday. the long-term forecast for the winter shows it rebuilding in the pacific. they'll be looking at a wet season here. not as wet as last season but slightly above normal rainfall. we'll see how that plays out. minimal fog tomorrow, temperatures slightly warmer, upper 70s to low 80s into the south bay. looking at mid to upper 80s. hotspots in the east bay and low 90s back into the upper 80s here. out in the trivalley area. mid to upper 80s approximate 80 -- 80s for tomorrow. as we look at the 7 day forecast, of course we'll find warmer temperatures and a lovely day tomorrow. looking at mid to low 80s.
