inland, temperatures similar to yesterday, lots of 80s, even a few 90s but a cool down. i'll tell you about that in a bit. >> not a lot of cars on the road. we have roadwork, though. details on that in a few minutes. >> thank you very much. it's 4:31. he is screams for help. -- screams for help. two women were rescued from a burning home in concord. the fire broke out off saint francis drive at bonhomme way around 1 a.m. police heard screams from the people trap inside. the smoke was heavy so they had to wait for firefighters. once contra costa firefighters arrived the sounds from inside helped them respond. >> our units went inside with safety gear on and went in and rescued two elderly occupants, brought them out and they were both taken to the hospital.

turtlenecks. fans of steve jobs are being asked to honor him today by wearing his trademark atime of a digital advertising company came up with the ideas and they are encouraging to change their profile picks to use photos dressed like steve jobs. there will be an increased police presence this morning at alhambra high school in martinez after someone there made a threat. the office manager received a threat yesterday by email essentially saying something bad could happen. police are trying to track down the source. administrators have decided to keep the school open with extra safety measures and we'll have a live report on that at 5:00. a man who operates a food cart in san jose now faces weapons charges. feds say jose ortiz has been selling guns for a few hundred dollars apiece. some of the buyers have been undercover cops. according to the u.s. attorneys office, ortiz kept the guns in

a van in a plastic bag. he says another man supplied him with the guns and he didn't ask where they came from. >> reporter: he was reselling other people's guns and he didn't know that was illegal? found that people in oakland have little confidence in her. 53% of oakland voters disapprove of the mayor's job performance thus far. that's a sharp turnaround now since just april, when 57% supported her. the new poll also found 69% have little or no confidence in quan' ability to reduce oakland's crime. >> i have no doubt that people are concerned, and it's a hard job. i do the very best i can. so i try not to worry about that. >> mayor quan says she is focusing in on her neighborhood crime summit now. that's scheduled for tomorrow. a house panel resumes hearings this morning on the government loan to an east bay solar energy company. the issue is the obama administration's decision to restructure the loan to solyndra. newly released e-mails show that the treasury department was concerned that the restructuring could violate federal law. solyndra's ceo resigned this

week. president obama, who toured solyndra last year and has been back to the bay area a few times since then, is planning yet another trip to the bay area. the president will be in town on the 25th for another fundraiser. last month he raised nearly $5.5 million in silicon valley. sources say the president will host a luncheon at a hotel. that location hasn't yet been announced. new york is backing off plans to clean the park where the "occupy wall street" protestors are camped. that clean-up was scheduled to start this morning. demonstrators claimed the planned clean-up was an effort to end their protest and some of them helped clean up the park on their own overnight. hundreds of protestors are at that park this morning. "occupy" protestors spent the night camping out in richmond. yesterday they marched from the performing arts center to city hall. they plan to camp there for several days. this group says it's not singling out any individuals or corporations to protest though some have made signs that blast chevron oil, which of course is

very big in richmond. more pickets are expected in morning outside a speech by news corp ceo rupert murdoch in san francisco. he will give a keynote address at a national summit of education reform. he was invited by the foundation for excellence in education a non-profit run by former florida governor jeb bush. the conference is at the palace hotel on new montgomery street. i'm sure there will be a little activity there today. >> it will be nice weather to protest. >> lots of sunshine. if you are going to be outside, just hanging out having a good time today, lots of sunshine for everybody. warm to hot inland. right now clear conditions, not too much clouds close to us. may see a few clouds at the coast but not too much outside. temperatures are mild for the most part.

i'm a target pharmacist and i'm here to answer your questions. salon was mentally unstable. at's according to the man suspected of gunning down eight people in a southern california hair salon was unstable according to court documents. meanwhile, sadness, tears and hugs outside the salon in seal beach. nearly 300 people gathered last night for a candlelight memorial and prayer service to remember those who died and to pray for the one woman still in critical condition. investigators are learning more now about the alleged shooter scott dekraai. the 41-year-old is custody for wednesday's shooting at the salon where his ex-wife worked. she was one of the people shot

and killed. people who knew the couple say they were in a bitter custody battle over their son. dekraai reportedly threatened to kill his ex and her coworkers two months ago and that threat was not taken seriously. police are set to hold a press conference later today. 4:45. pg&e is replacing 1200 miles of pipeline with the same design as the one that failed in cupertino this past august. the two inch wide plastic pipe that caused a fire at a condo all part of a network of distribution lines and patches of that pipe made before 1973 have shown a history of cracking. the replacement project across california is expected to take about three years. the family of the man who drowned on memorial day is filing claims against the city and county of alameda. the 56-year-old walked into the bay at crown beach and drowned. police and firefighters watched from shore as zach drowned saying they were not trained or equipped to rescue him.

collision between the two amtrak trains in oakland. one theory is that an engineer disregarded a stop system and a system dispatcher failed to switch a train to another track. 17 people suffered minor injuries two days ago when the coast starlight was hit by the san joaquin while unloading passengers at jack london square. a federal watchdog agency is reporting a spike in air traffic control mistakes near airports. the government accountability office says errors that cause planes to fly too close together have nearly doubled over the past three years. aviation officials say a new automatic system is identifying more incidents and a new policy encouraged controller to disclose the mistakes without being punished. a 3-year-old boy is safe with his parents after spending 20 hours alone in the sierra foothills. the child wandered off from his family's home wednesday in the small town of washington east of nevada city. search crews spent the night looking for him but it was a

traffic. >> perfect for a friday, kristy. our roads pretty perfect now, as well. if you are on the golden gate bridge out of marin county, up to speed on the southbound side of 101. on the bridge, problem-free, light this morning just a few cars on the road. they are changing lanes now so he said up there. elsewhere, along 101 or going to sfo, keep in mind traffic not too bad. we are getting word of a traffic hazard possibly a stalled vehicle stuck in lanes. that's what may be causing that yellow conditions there you see on the road. but northbound 72 miles per hour as you head towards sfo. no delays there. roadwork southbound 880 between 29th and 66th avenue will be in effect at least until 5:00. some slight delays there but overall not too bad. here's a live look at conditions along 880. steady flow of cars both directions though still fairly problem-free outside the
