6:48 pm
the cold patchy frost. only a low there of 25 degrees. and so what you saw overnight, and last night, we're expecting that again. and for tonight, i know for tomorrow, we're going to warm things up. it looks like in the upper 50s, low 60s. across most parts and sun and clouds. a mix. if you're watching our newscast earlier, there is another spare the air alert for tomorrow. for christmas day. so no wood burning. that whole chestnuts roasting on an open fire, thing. not going to happen through the holiday weekend. here is a look at the satellite and radar picture. notice the system here just to the west of us. it is going to bring a few high clouds. and tomorrow, and monday. but the bottom line is we are staying dry. so that is goods news. for santa. and his sleigh and his reindeer. lows overnight, pretty cold again. freeze warning in effect. 25 in fairfield. that's definitely one of the colder spots and 26 in concord and 27 in livermore. also 27 in santa rosa. so if you're doing a little traveling for the holiday, a pretty sunny day. mostly to partly sunny skies across northern california and
6:49 pm
for closer to home, across the bay area, again upper 50s, to low 60s. across many parts of the bay area. and so checking the next several days, once again we are staying dry tomorrow and on into monday. a few more clouds roll in. but look at the middle of the week. that is when we are seeing a chance of rain. it looks like late tuesday night. and into wednesday. and that chance of rain, lingers throughout the remainder of the week. so this is not going to be a huge rainmaker. just some light sprinkles but again we haven't seen rain in a while. quickly a look at the christmas forecast. chilly in the morning. and then that freeze warning is set to expire around 9:00 and then sun and clouds. temperatures mostly in the upper 50s to low 60s. that's your weather. let's go over to gary for a check of sports. >> elizabeth, thanks. the 49ers battle for a first round bye. the riders fight for their playoff lives. it is so exciting. everyone is flipping out at the possibility of both local teams in the playoffs. sports is next. ok, you guys wanted a space for entertaining your friends,
