today telling him he has no plans to step aside. robert found out the sheriff wasn't eager to elaborate. >> consider this. when he was running for city supervisor and most recently sheriff, he ran toward television news cameras. now that he's facing criminal prosecution, he's running from our news cameras. as you're about to see, that's literally. >> reporter: as sheriff, he swore to up hold the law. now rob is on the wrong side of the law with a domestic violence case that led to a late afternoon meeting with the mayor. that's where this story requires track shoes to track. in fact, cameras were forced to run down a fourth door city hall corridor in pursuit of him. he dashed from mayor lee's office up not one but two flights of stairs once he saw our waiting cameras. unable to out run our

office said he was asked to consider a leave. one that would encompass the days leading up to it's scheduled trial. he seems to have heard none of that, saying the mayor was cordial. if it was so cordial, why is he now running from cameras? could it be that ex-girlfriend christina flores is allegedly waiting as a witness to testify to a history of domestic violence? >> i'm going to fight it. >> late tonight reports surface of a second ex-girlfriend alleging domestic abuse. i spoke with sources close to this investigation. they told me as of tonight no other accuser has filed a police report either with the police or district attorney. >> so we did have the one ex-girlfriend who did file a police report. >> she did file a report. she brought those accusations pb lic yesterday despite the fact she said that her information was

say they feel safe walking by themselves even late at night. apparently, so do tourists. >> we're traveling to our last site, past 10 at night, and we've never seen any. we don't feel unsafe or anything. >> i was walking around last night and seems like a safe area. unfortunate to hear that's happening here. but i guess bad things happen everywhere. >> police would not say how the suspect was injured, nor did they say what the extent of the injuries were to the victim. they say injuries to both were non-life-threatening. >> other bay area headlines. richmond police are looking for the gunman who shot and killed a college student. the shooter was chasing a car on foot when he stopped and opened fire at a brother and sister sitting in a parked car. 22-year-old martinez died. his sister wasn't hurt.

so far, no arrests or suspects. a half a dozen homes were evacuated for nearly an hour in san bruno this afternoon because of a gas leak. city construction crews ruptured a gas transmission line while working on a sewage pipe on chestnut avenue. it took them about a half hour to cap that 2-inch pipe. >> pieces of the sun hurdling toward earth at lightning speed. the wave of radiation, part of the biggest solar storm in more than a decade. it brings tech troubles but it's not all bad. elizabeth cook shows us it's putting on a pretty good show. >> this is what the sun looks like from massive satellites. that right there is the solar flare-up that has scientists captivated. >> a big flash of light got here in minutes.

two east bay cities will bee to the retailer's first gro- only stores in the state. recently the company has ben an expansion drive in california. last year, walmt used the threat of a special election to gain approval to expand their store in milpi. neighbors in both hayward ad pleasanton had mixed feelins over the chain's arrival. "walmart being so big, and g such a big chain, i would ae that it would hurt everybody else." butt to "we do need n anchor tenant in our shoppig mall here. it will be very d for all of us." walmart will move into the former sites of circuit citn hayward and nob hill foods n pleasanton. allegiant air is making itsy to oakland international airport. the expansion will soon add seven new non- stop routes-- beginning in april. allegiant will fly two fliga week to destinations in mon, idaho, and oregon. limited
