lawsuit accusing the officers in the city of violating jones civil-rights. a police chief in florida has been given a no-confidence vote over a controversial shooting. the chiefs department has been criticized for not arresting a neighborhood watch volunteer for the fatal shooting of a 17 year- old. some people in san francisco took part in a nationwide 1 million of the march in honor of him last night. the teenager was on on been wearing a hooded sweatshirt when he was shot and killed last month. activists are outraged that the shooter has not been charged yet >> we want to see him punished for alright cold-blooded first- degree murder because that is what he did. the bottom line is that martin was profiled for his color, his image, for wearing a petite >> neighborhood watch volunteer

months. today a large piece of history will leave the san francisco bay. it is the biggest container ship ever to pass under the golden gate bridge. it departs tonight at 6:00. the ship will load and reload before heading back to asia. it will need to make a tight turn when it time to leave. it is like the transamerica pyramid, 1.5 times that size. that ship is not the only thing in the bay right now >> there has been another whale sighting your tiburon. chopper 5 caught a quick glimpse of it yesterday. we are told that crowds of whale watchers had gathered along the nearby shore to check it out. boaters should steer clear of the area to avoid frightening the animal. >> apparently there must be some

good food in the bay or something. how about a little bit of weather now. >> a good weekend for talks because we will see a lot of rain outside and it looks like a couple of scattered showers around the bay area this morning. some of those clouds continue to move through as a weak cold front slights by. temperatures right now are fairly mild with that cloud cover. 53 degrees in livermore. as we had through the day you watch the cold front moving through town and sliding on by. once it does that the skies will clear out. the weekend is when we expect some major changes. temperatures expected to be much cooler today. 59 in oakland, 57 degrees in san francisco. friday is ok but the weekend

looks very wet, especially the first part. >> a good weekend for the ducks. highway 4, we do have a problem already and it is in the commute direction, westbound highway 4 just passed the bailey road exit. there is already some slowing behind it. this is also an area where they have been doing a lot of road work. also seeing some road work on the upper deck of the bay bridge. not on the san francisco side but when you come up the incline and head towards treasure island there are two right lanes blocked on the incline. caltrans says there in the process of picking it up. no issues out of a word. more traffic coming up, back to you guys. >> something needed to be done

new studies show that doctors might be able to figure out when the disease comes back based on information in those cells. they found that women who had at least five cancer cells in their blood were more likely to have their cancer returned. they hope they can develop new treatment to stop that from happening. research found a big clue that might help them understand male pattern baldness. it is an unsaturated fatty acid that is found in the bald areas of the head. they found in mice during they're shedding face. doctors say they might be able to stop balding if they can block that fatty acid. >> let's check the weather right now >> a lot of clouds out there right now and we're looking for at least the chance of a couple white sprinkles. the cold front is pulling through some clouds, temperature's fairly mild into the fifties. by the afternoon that front will be gone with cooler

temperatures today. '50s and '60s around the bay area with sunshine and a couple of clouds passing by a rather weak cold front making its way through right now. it will continue to pull through town today and then it looks like once it moves by we will dry out nicely. here it is moving through the bay area. low 70's, that was something else. traveling around the state today, 65 degrees in the sacramento valley. a chance of a few showers up towards tahoe. around the bay area, those temperatures running in the '50s and '60s. in the east bay temperatures in the low 60s by the afternoon and we are looking at temperatures into the low fifties in the bay.

a pretty good storm comes in on saturday and i think we're looking to moderate or heavy amounts of rainfall on saturday morning. showers continue on sunday. we get into spring and we probably see more days of rain than we have all winter long. >> we will take you out towards highway 4 once again because this has been the problem spot so far this morning. the sensors are turning red in antioch so the accident is actually just passed the bailey road exit. there is some construction going on and that is not helping matters on highway 4. we will let you know when that completely clear. right now we do not have an estimated time of when they will reopen lanes. the san francisco side of the bay bridge looks good.

getting to treasure island is where you'll find some road work. in the meantime, drive times in the east bay not too bad. west down 580 and coming down the shore all moving at top speeds. if you're coming from marin county here is a live look across the golden gate bridge. they should be doing lane changes any minute to get more lanes open heading into san francisco. silicon valley commuters, it looks like this on 237 where they have that new express lane open to the public. we just checked in with bart and all trains are running on time including the stops around downtown san francisco. our radio partners, we pool all their information with them and you can find them at one of 6.9
