>> good evening. a tragic ending to a family bike ride this morning. and out of control driver in concord kills a father and a daughter. don is in concord where some of the damage is still visible >> residents tell us that this stretch of concrete boulevard near the elk grove road intersection moves pretty fast very much like a freeway and what happened here earlier today happened in a flash, just a matter of seconds with a deadly consequences. wreckage and debris give a sense of the violent force of the crash. a heavily damaged building, bicycles on the ground >> a fire hydrant landed in the middle of the street and it that had to be a pretty hard hit. it was pretty devastating to see bicycles all of the ground. i didn't know they were

children >> authorities say the vehicle was moving fast on the 45 m.p.h. and treat boulevard when it slammed into three bicyclist. it continued on and hit a fire hydrant before hitting a building >> i was like the third car and we were in the left lane and one of the little girls was in the street >> a bicyclist and his nine year-old daughter were killed and a 12 year-old daughter was taken to john muir hospital with non life-threatening injuries >> i got out of my car and there was a young girl screaming about her leg so i ran over to check her and i could see that she was not going to die so i ran over to the man and when i got there it was obvious to me that he was fatally injured >> the unnamed 17 year-old driver of the s-u-v went to the hospital briefly and then to jail

>> speed appears to be a factor as well as a lane change and the driver has been arrested for manslaughter >> but he says the driver called him from the scene >> he said he might have killed two people and he was pretty scared and i wasn't sure if he was serious but he seemed pretty nervous >> bouquets of flowers have begun to appear on the scene. neighbors tell us that they live only about a block from here, they were writing about one block from their house >> a large group of volunteers spread the search for missing morgan hill teenager sierra lamar. quarterback alex smith took part in the search for the second time all along with some teammates. michael lake has been involved in all of the volunteer searches. he welcomes the attention the participation of the team brings to the effort.

within 3 mi. of each other in historical black county district 1. a 911 caller said he heard a gunshot and found a woman laying in the street. she later died at a hospital. three minutes later two men were shot and they survived but the other victims did not. less than an hour passed when a man was found shot dead in the street. when the sun rises a dead man was found in a church parking lot and police say he was gunned down as well >> we know it is a white male in a white pickup truck. we were fortunate enough to have one victim survived was able to give us that information >> the victims had no apparent connection but they're all black. a district council minna's insure urging his constituents to speak up >> you need to put aside whatever you think about your inability to be able to talk to the police department. we are working together

>> the fbi and u.s. marshals have joined the search for the killer. >> they're calling it a good friday miracle, fire officials say they have accounted for everyone who live at the apartment complex where a navy fighter jet crashed yesterday. taryn merger on the next at in the investigation. investigators are combing through the wreckage looking for clues as to why an f 18 crashed into an apartment complex in virginia beach. on friday, the navy jet suffered what officials called a catastrophic malfunction. witnesses say they saw the plane dumping fuel. the pilot and instructor on board ejected from the craft, both of them survived. dozens of apartments were damaged or destroyed >> was of the apartment building go up in flames >> including the home of that

the seven people killed in the oikos university shooting. concerts' like this one will be held every day except sunday for the rest of the month at the school in oakland. it honors the six women and one man killed in the massacre. anyone who would like to give condolences through music is welcome to take part. police say 43 rolled one go carry out the shooting which was the worst in state history. he faces seven counts of murder and three counts of attempted murder. he has yet to enter a plea. a special prosecutor assigned to the trayvon martin case has yet to decide if a man who killed and will face charges. dozens of demonstrators are in the midst of a three day march from daytona to sanford protesting how the case was handled. >> protesters marched down

of the salmon season is over. four years ago a collapse in the salmon population shutdown the salmon fisheries. experts estimate there are more than 8000 adults chinook salmon in coastal waters. they attribute the comeback to wet winter and favorable oceanic conditions. oakland got a jump on the easter celebrations with one of the biggest easter a hinds in the bay area. this was the action this afternoon at the oakland mosque would easter egg hunt. for the past four years it has become one of the largest free events for children in oakland. more than 1 million pieces of candy were handed out. a celebration of the bay area's most iconic landmark. carnival hosted the golden gate jubilee in golden gate park this afternoon celebrating the 75th

of sunshine and a few clouds inland and there will be a slight chance of rain showers. it does not look like much and mainly it is north of the golden gate. temperatures will actually be pretty good. from 60 down to the low seventies across the bay area depending on where you are. we have a low pressure system that looks like it will stay mainly west. it really won't affect us until closer to tuesday. throughout the day at 5:00, earlier in the week we thought this would head closer to the bay area and bring us a better chance of rain mainly in the north bay but it looks like we will not see much out of it at all. tuesday, that is when we really will see showers across the bay area and it looks like it is sticking around tuesday and wednesday. overnight lows mainly in the
