there were only three surviving sailors from this tragic event, there is one confirmed death in the incident and that is marked kasten, he was known as a belvedere artist who died when seven of the crewmembers were swept overboard. the sailors were part of a race around the fair a long silence. crews searched the area saturday and sunday and there were no signs of the four missing. the search involved an airplane, helicopters, three cutters and a smaller boat. the coast guard said making a decision to call off the search is never easy >> a big swell hit the sailing

vessel, it low-speed chase, and it swept for people off the board and the rest of the crew turned the vessel around and then they got hit by another wave which knocked him into the rocks. >> the 38 ft. low-speed chase was 35 mi. from san francisco and it took some hits in two rocky islands. the sailors were at half way around a race when a wave hit. when they tried to turn around to save their fellow crew members they get another wave, causing that tragic series of events. coast guard says there are no plans to resume the search this morning. that windows of probability has passed. is a tragic event that i know members of the sentences the yacht club will continue to mourn this morning. >> today marks the months since the disappearance of a 15 year-

30 percent fewer people are registered for the race. some people believe it could be a backlash from the organization's decision to stop funding planned parenthood. organizers of today's boston marathon are telling some runners to skip a race. organizers are worried about the extreme heat with temperatures forecast to hit about 90 degrees. if runners do skip this year the registration will carry over to next year's marathon. the finish line will stay open an hour later than normal so runners can walk for longer >> i have covered that race for 25 years and one year it was in the upper 80s and that is not good. fifties and foggy and a little cold is a good day. here in the bay area we have
