daughter who had been shot. the daughter was taken to a local hospital where she died from injuries. police were able to get a search warrant for the home at around 11:00 last night. they say the women had been shot but they had not said if they had found the murder weapon. they said the neighbors in the area should not be worried about a killer on loose >> >> is usually a pretty quiet neighborhood and pleasant in is usually a pretty quiet town so this is out of the ordinary >> police say the husband and father are not suspects in this case and he is not in custody but they do say he is a person of interest. the case is still under investigation and police are asking anyone with any information to give them a call. >> police in oakland say a

burglary suspect escaped from the back of a patrol car. it happened last night at 745 near the corner of sixth street and jefferson street just feet away from a jail. police say somehow the 19 year- old manage to slip out of his handcuffs, opened the back door of the patrol car. he was last seen running on jefferson wearing a blue shirt and blue jeans >> investigators are now looking for a specific car in the search for sierra lamar. jetta like the one you see there but it has black and. they say it came up through eyewitness accounts in video surveillance. witnesses say it was seen on march 16th >> detectors are thinking that it is more than a coincidence that this red vehicle was

observed in the video surveillance >> investigators have ruled out any connection between the case and an empty handcuff boxed and condoms found during one of the early searches >> we're getting our first look at what the defense says is an underwear bomb. they wanted to use this kind of bomb to blow up a passenger plane that was headed to the u.s.. they say this is the latest works of the man who was best known for the christmas 2009 plot to bring down a plane with an underwear bomb but this latest device is more sophisticated >> this is a very clever guy very good at making bombs. he is probably al qaeda on the arabian peninsula number one threat to the u.s. directly >> the cia says the suspect had yet to pick a target or buy an airplane ticket and is not clear if the bomb would have gone through airport security.

to 101. southbound is moving five this morning and all of the south bay looks good. this is a live look at the center is up and down the guadalupe parkway. here is some of that fog that lawrence has been talking about. it is sneaking its way into some of the traffic cameras but not too bad as you head towards the golden gate bridge toll plaza. it should be wrapping up likely within the next half hour soak in the meantime to drive times for a popular east a routes are all in the clear. >> into year-old east a girl is expected to recover from a series of dog bites. a pit bull but the girl's face

and legs in concord. firefighters say the girl was conscious when they got there yesterday afternoon. she was airlifted to children's hospital in oakland in stable condition. neighbors tell us it was the family dog that attacks the girl and the dog has reportedly been euthanize >> police are trying to track down four robbers who held up several people in a walnut creek home. it happened just after midnight. investigators say to women not on the door proclaiming their car had broken down and they needed to use the telephone. once they got inside two men jumped out and began robbing the five people inside >> he proceeded to force all the residents into a common area and continued to ransack the house looking for various items to steal >> police say this was not a random crime. they say the victims know the

suspects and officers are familiar with them as well police in the east bay have released sketches of the man wanted for kidnapping a cabdriver at gunpoint. they robbed him of his cash and and drop him off in the oakland hills about 45 minutes later on arm. the cat was found later that day abandon in oakland. >> police have identified a suspect shot and killed in oakland. the 18 year-old was a high- school senior set to graduate next month. police say he was on probation for a burglary conviction. the officer believed he posed a threat and fired four shots. three of them hit him and the fourth struck the officer in the lake. the oakland city council will review a plan for internal investigations into the police response to occupy protests.

everything is on time. coming up will get a check of the roadways. >> the jury in the oracle vs. google trial is deadlocked. the jury in san francisco ruled that google did infringe copyrights when it developed android software but the jurors could not decide if google used parts of the programming system fairly under copyright law which means oracle probably will not win major damages. google is moving for a mistrial on that part of the case >> today the student loan debate comes to a head. a senate vote is expected to on proposal to keep interest rates from bubbling on july 1st. their disagreement is over how to pay for it. the rates were temporarily lowered four years ago. california state university trusties seem to be responding to criticism over plans to give 10 percent pay raises to campus presidents.

some cooler temperatures that will move inside the bay. more fog will return and cooler weather is in the works but today it will still be hot in spots. east bay temperatures running into the 80s and 90s. the next couple of days we will start to cool down the temperatures. as we head into friday and weekend the offshore wind is kicking in and here comes the sun shine with temperatures near 90 again >> will take you outside at a live look at the bay bridge were everything looks good once again this morning. you may find some road work blocking a couple of wins out words treasure island. elsewhere we have a high wind advisory in effect for the san mateo bridge. otherwise we're getting word of

what sounds like a one alarm structure fire. we're not sure what is burning and hopefully we will be able to bring you some live pictures and more detailed information very shortly. in the meantime the main freeways through the east bay actually look pretty good. a nice smooth ride past the downtown oakland exits' and westbound highway 4 a through antioch, so far no delay. westbound 580 coming out of the altamont pass, so far looks pretty good. a quick check of the golden gate bridge, caltrans has roadwork scheduled between larkspur and sausalito. it is scheduled to wrap up by about 6:00. in the meantime across the golden gate bridge everything looks pretty good.
