next year. uc-berkeley police got to the residence of just after 10 last night and police say that at that time a student fell from a window in town hall. paramedics arrived on scene and the officers wrote off the area. uc-berkeley police identified the student as henry treadway. within hours students created a facebook memorial and it has been flooded with messages of condolences and mourning for henry. a memorial of candles and flowers is in front of the hall where he reportedly fell from. the alameda county coroner's office will be doing an autopsy today. they have not ruled out suicide at this point. >> volunteers will gather this morning in morgan hill to continue searching for sierra lamar. there is a piece of evidence in the case and some new hope.

detectives have found a red and black car that may be linked to the girl's disappearance. the girl's father and investigators remain hopeful that the 15 year-old will be found alive. >> i have been hopeful and staying positive the whole time and i still feel that way. >> for all intents and purposes we do believe that she is still out there alive. >> divers continue searching bodies of water in the south bay, using new sonar equipment that gives them a clear image of objects that they might find in the water >> concord police are looking for a hit-and-run driver who struck a four year-old child. police say he struck the girl yesterday as she was playing in the yard near her home and then stumbled into the street. police are investigating whether the truck dragged the child or if she was knocked on top of it. she was airlifted to the

hospital with a foot and a head injury and she is expected to survive. a castro valley boy is in custody hospital after being mauled by pit bull. he had cuts to his cheek, is a year and his eye. parents face child endangerment charges because the house was a mess >> the house was in terrible condition. it was not fit for a child to live there >> on monday night, a family pit bull attack a two year-old girl. she has injuries to her face, her leg and her neck >> another potential blow to university of california students who could face higher tuition. officials are considering a plan to raise tuition by six percent if the state does not increase funding by $125 million for the upcoming academic year. that would nearly double what students paid five years ago. the amount could change based on the state's ever-changing

tires. shops on either side were also damaged and two people were injured. investigators arrested the tire shop employee on suspicion of unlawfully causing the fire. autopsy's plant today on the mother and daughter were killed in their pleasanton home. investigators are trying to determine whether it was a double murder or a murder- suicide. the woman's husband found a victim and he is not considered a suspect. >> investigators are not saying much about a telephone threat that prompted southwest airlines to ground two of its planes. airline says the flight was taking off to an isolated area after landing at sky harbor airport last night. it later flight on the same route was halted before passengers got on board. the fbi and local police

searched both planes and found nothing dangerous. it appears that would be a al qaeda bomber turned out to be a double agent. u.s. and a yemeni officials say the man picked to blow up the airliner was actually working for the cia and saudi intelligence. he delivered the bomb to u.s. intelligence officials in attack. al qaeda had created a bomb without metal parts making unlikely to be picked up by metal detectors >> a new survey finds support for the war in afghanistan is at an all-time low in the u.s.. a poll out this morning says 27 percent of americans now support the war down from 37% last year. 66 percent say they are opposed. half of those say the u.s. is doing more harm than good in that country. operations in afghanistan are slated to get $80 billion under the defense department budgets from both the white house and republicans.

thousands of owners three pilot program. the bay area company is one step closer to selling the world's first fda approved hiv prevention drug. the company in foster city makes the drug that is currently used to treat people who already have hiv and yesterday the fda said the popular pill appears to be safe and effective to prevent hiv when used with other preventive measures. a boost of testosterone may help men over 40 drop some pounds. german researchers studied 115 overweight men with low testosterone. using injection's they brought the levels back to normal. after five years the average patient lost 35 lbs., blood pressure and cholesterol levels also fell significantly. doctors believe it improves energy and increases lean body mass.

report and giving us the latest details in minutes. in the meantime, let's go outside, the golden gate bridge where everything looks ok this morning. we do have roadwork through marin county on southbound 101. there are various lanes blocked off. at 6:00 this morning is when it is scheduled until but the rest of the south bay looks really good. everything picking up top speeds up and down guadalupe parkway, 101, and 280. >> we have some fog that moved in along the coastline. the sea breeze is moving a little strong today which is a sign of things to come. fifties and mostly clear skies in the interior valleys. maybe a couple of patches of fog towards the coast line,

otherwise temperatures in the '60s. a lot of seventies around the bay. things are changing now, high pressure is starting to give way to the system out of the north. that will brush through over the next couple of days and bring cooler air to the bay area and bring to temperature's down just a few degrees. it looks like the offshore wind will be coming back and make for a great weekend. many of the valleys are looking good with plenty of sunshine. the temperatures will stay nice even though they will be down a few degrees. east bay temperatures into the '70s and '80s in the warm spots and inside the they will feel the effects of the wind. 71 in alameda. the next couple of days we will cool down just a bit. by friday the wind turns
