beginning to heat up around the bay area but just wait. we have an impressive heat wave coming up we'll talk about that in a couple l minutes -- minutes. >> it is so far looking good past the oakland coliseum, but you will find road work in downtown oakland. we'll have more on this traffic and weather together every 10 minutes. we begin with breaking news on tuesday, in san francisco a fire at the multilevel house in the bay view neighborhood. >> reporter: good morning frank, firefighters are just packing up that you up -- their trucks as you can see. they say it started in the back bedroom o of a house. the call came in an hour ago. firefighters came in and say they aggressively attacked so the fire would keep from spreading to the rest of the house and that's the concern in the san francisco neighborhoods, is how close the

homes are to one another. when they put it out, they determined it was started by an unattended candle. at the end of the day there were no injuries. no injuries to any firefighters and no injuries to any civilians instead the home but they want to remind neighbors that you should not leave these candles unattended especially during the holiday season. we're live in san francisco, cate cauguiran. a huge fire sweeps through a supply store in san carlos. it happened overnight. >> reporter: good morning, the fire is out but firefighters are going in and out of the building checking for hot spots and flare ups. it broke out inside san carlos restaurant around huh-uh 30. they found -- 4:30 this morning. they found heavy smoke in the building and upgraded it into

three alarms. it took them an hour and a half to get the flames under control. the fitness center next doors was evacuated. crews were able to contain the flames to materials inside the building so the structure was not damaged, just all the materials inside. this business was packed with items like fryers, refrigeration equipment and smaller supplies like pots and pans making the flames difficult and dangerous to put out. >> a lot of material inside the business for the running of the business pretty heavily loaded that kind of contributed to the stubbornness of the fire. >> reporter: overhead are sprinklers did go and you have firefighters say there would have been a whole -- did go off and firefighters say there would have been a whole lot more damage if that hadn't happened. they're making sure the fire is totally out before they leave

the seen. al sis saw harrington. the search continues for a plan that's been missing for 24 hours. it took off around 6 in the morning. pilot was heading down to tucson arizona. he never made it. the plane is similar to this one right here with the tail number n72ah. it is registered to andrew hay den of florida. five people are wounded after a rashing of shootings in oakland. it happened just before 10 in east oakland. one victim has critical injuries and another is in guarded condition. earlier two other people were shot also in east oakland and one person each was wounded near lake her it. they are all in stable condition. the oakland police department is backed sliding on

portman who has been playing president obama in debate preps. >> allow did it go senator? >> reporter: president obama spent the day in williamsburg virginia, he's promised to be more aggressive in refuting claims. and political analysts warn that because the voters will be asking the questions, being too aggressive could be seen as negative. >> it's a difficult type of attorneys prepare for. >> reporter: the moderator for tonight's debate has promised to take an active role and that has both campaigns concerned. >> this will be a different president come tuesday. >> reporter: cnn's candy crawley will ask follow up questions but when the campaigns agreed to the debate they came to a mutual agreement that the moderator not ask new questions or ask new topics. both voiced concerns about the plans. he says she is not bound by any

coastline. how about this for the central valley, 80s there. 80 in fresno. in yosemite, around the bay, get out and go do it today, we're going to see sunshine. 71 degrees in pacifica and plenty of sunshine cranking up san francisco to 76 degrees. 85 in santa rosa and about 77 degrees in oakland. this is the beginning of much warmer weather. tomorrow probably spiking in low 90s inland. 70s out toward the coastline that will continue into thursday. looks like by friday may be returning to patchy fog and a sea breeze. much cooler temperatures toward the weekend. that sounds pretty nice. >> love it. a mini heat wave. >> let's take you outside and show you the release. we're going to roadways, we're going to cool things down. no big hot spots or major accidents. as you can see everything is

the sea lion named blond bomber was rescued by a team from the center after being entangled in plastic packaging wrap. if all goes well, she could be released into the wild early this week. they rescue about 1600 marine mammals and 18 are rescued from entangledment. do you remember the huge eyeball that washed up on shore. it may have belonged to a swordfish. experts say they made the determination based on sides and color and structure. it is big. check it out. they think a fisherman may have cut the eye out and then tossed it overboard. they're conducting a dna test to confirm the finding so the lockness monster theory is out and i guess swordfish get over a thousand pound. that is a big thing. >> it's a big eye and it's so gross looking at it. >> that would be gross if you're on the seashore and look at that. it's 4:56, a bay area pilot
