they'll be sequestered in the sistine chapel where they'll begin voting for a new pope. it is an election influenced by prayer and politics. vinita nair is at the vatican this morning. good morning, vinita. >> reporter: good morning, anne-marie. you mentioned politics and prayer, but it's really the politics that are taking center stage here in vatican city. a lot of people comparing voting blocs amongst these cardinals to horse trading, and while they're ever shifting alliances, there are some front-runners that have emerged. the time has almost passed for the cardinals to get to know each other and to discuss the problems facing the catholic church. today is the last day of general meetings. >> they've now got to talk not about the issues of the church, but who. they've got to come up with a name, a person. >> reporter: the voting process known as the conclave begins tomorrow. 115 cardinals under the age of 80 will decide who will be the next leader of the catholic church. there is a sense that some names are starting to emerge. >> a week ago we would have said, wow, we've got a lot of work to do, but now you see a
