deputy hank valencia: a couple of our officers have been marked for death by these gangs. we're trying to find out if there's any truth to the rumors that they've put out that some officers are going to be shot this weekend. we subsequently have been making a lot of vehicle stops in the area and checking those individuals-- with their consent, of course-- for any drugs or weapons. i have a vehicle southbound california just south of 30th. it's got an obstructed front view. that's the reason we're going to stop them. he's out of l.a. that's why he did that. hi. how is everything today? oh, all right. how are you doing today? you can't have that thing hanging from your rearview mirror. it's the school parking thing.

4:14 am
you all go to jail. could you put us all together in one..? no. that isn't the way we play this game. you all go to jail. where did the gun come from? my stepfather gave it to me on my birthday. i don't know where it came from or whatever but he didn't like the thought of me... because i'm going to move with my real father. he didn't like the idea of me riding around here-- you know, unprotected-- because, you know i was raped before but he wanted to make sure that i was able to take care of myself so he gave it to me on my birthday which was recent. he gave you a stolen handgun, understand? yes, i do. you have to go to jail for that. yes. have you ever been in jail? no, i haven't. these two individuals in the car have nothing to do with the handgun? no, they don't whatsoever. that's what i needed to know. can one of them drive my car around
