e car, grabbed a blunt object and began to hit customers and workers inside of the store. officers say he appeared to be under the influence of meth amphetamines. witnesses were able to hold him down. in the end, three people taken to the hop, two in serious condition. amazingly, police don't believe anyone was hit by the car. >> i know i was supposed to get run over, but i didn't. so, there is a god. >> reporter: police say the driver faces several charges, assault with a deadly weapon, felony hit and run. as for the victims, police don't believe their injuries are life-threatening. >> >> oakland police searching for the people who shot and killed a man through his car door this morning the shooting happened around 10:00 in the 2400 block of 68th avenue. police say shots activated and the victim was found. shattered glass and several bullet holes in the drivers side of the vehicle.

the san francisco chronicle reports that the police are searching for three shooting suspects. >> >> new developments in the officer involved shooting the suspect this that incident has died. debra is live in oakland to explain how a traffic stop quickly escalated into something deadly. debra? >> reporter: we are at the stop where the fatally wounded suspect crashed into this pole with guns blazing and a deputy riding alongside. >> who got hit? >> reporter: ktvu had the only camera on the scene as deputies scrambled on the call they dread. "officer shot." >> get that ambulance in here. deputy still in the passenger's seat of the drivers car. he climbed in down the block to unhook the drivers seatbelt. that suspect was clutching it, refusing to get out of his car.

with the deputy inside, the driver floored it and took them both for a ride. >> he got shot in the foot. suspect is in custody. >> reporter: deputies say a gun was found on the floor board, but for word on how it was fired and how the deputy's foot was wounded. the driver shot multiple times an died at the hospital. the passenger out of the car and under arrest for drug possession was not injured. the two aroused suspicion by taking a long time to pull over in the traffic stop. >> it usually means somebody is trying to hide something. they could see somebody ducking down, movement in the car, so they knew something was going on. >> >> reporter: the injured deputy has been released from the hospital. oakland police in charge of the investigation.

for most of the day, but as i mentioned, more activity is developing off shore in the pacific. that will be the source of more shower activity. here's the storm system driving today's pattern. area low pressure beginning to approach the coastline. as it does, we will bump up the rain chances. here's our forecasted model this evening, taking it to the 8:00 hour at 8:00. scattered showers out there and mostly favoring parts of the north bay and out towards fair field, antioch, concorde, still widely scattered showered. here we are, 8:00, taking it into your monday morning. lots of cloud cover out there. a little activity with the rainshowers. coming up, we'll look at the shower potential for monday and the timing of another storm showing up on the long range weather maps. >> >> storm causing flight delays

an 18-year-old man arrested, suspected of dui following a crash that killed five family members from southern california. dead include four adults an a 13-year-old girl. authorities say the teen's s.u.v. struck the family's van from behind causing both of those vehicles to roll over. two other family members this

highway patrol investigating it car fire that happened this morning on the off ramp highway 24 in oakland. when our crew arrived on the scene at 3:00 in the morning, flames were already shooting out of the car. the driver fled the scene, according to the chp,s the driver may have hit a guard
