he didn't give anybody permission to take the vehicle. he went to the gas station and put some gas in then decided to use the rest room. when he returned they took the car. at this time the two that were in the car are going to be arrested for grand theft, motor vehicle. the advice i gave him the best he could understand at a later date there will be some detectives coming to talk to him or trying to translate exactly what happened. i don't know exactly how we'd do it with deaf-mutes but somebody will make a statement and he'll have to sign it.

officer james luby: the district vice detectives are going to execute a search warrant. the area is known for high drug activity. there's always people on the corner. it's raining today. we're not sure if there will be a lot of people out there

but we're taking sufficient manpower to cover the people on the outside. there's a jamaican store up the street that they've tried to hit a couple times. it's known for a lot of drug activity weapons violations. yeah, there was a time not too long ago when there was so much trouble at that particular store they wouldn't let one two-man car go there alone. whenever one went, they had to send another one any time there was an assignment in that general area. just because a lot of things had leaked out about threats on policemen and a lot of weapons floating around with the people that were hanging around the store. when we go into the house we have to treat it that they are armed until we know different. okay, the other officers are going to... must be this one here. they got the back.

members of the napa special investigation bureau one man inside the car, one was believed have an assault of a deadly weapon. they held the men at gunpoint and as one man got out of the car the officers got into some sort of altercation leading the man to shoot him into the force so. he is unknown at this time. the two men were taken into police custody. there are a lot of unanswered questions this morning. such as did the man have a warrant? we will stay on top of this and bring you the latest as soon as itvilles as soon as see we can we will bring it along to you.

paul chambers, ktvu channel 2 morning news. firefighters believe that fire started in the kitchen of a bottom floor apartment and quickly spread. it happened at about 3:00 a.m. the building had five apartments and none of the other units were damaged. also this morning. oakland police are investigating the shooting of paramedics. when we last checked, he was in critical condition. at hyland, boyer was at a stop sign and keller drive and witnesses say a man got out and shot at boyar and he sped off to a ravine where police found him. >> it is not easy for people to go
