well, the three cleveland women who were rescued after being held captive for a decade have been reunited with their families. police say amanda berry, gina dejesus, and michele knight are in good physical shape. they're being questioned by a special fbi interrogation team. three brothers are in custody including ariel castro who owned the house where the women were held. they are expected to be formally charged today. cleveland police visited the house at least twice, and this morning they are facing questions about their handling of the case. vinita nair is in cleveland this morning. good morning, vinita. >> reporter: good morning, anne-marie. we're also learning more about what transpired. in the home on see moymour stre. the details are gruesome. one woman said she was pregnant numerous times and beaten so she would lose the pregnancy. one of the rooms in the home had chains hanging from the ceiling.

amanda berry, gina dejesus, and michele knight, the three women held captive for more than a decade, are now at an undisclosed location recuperating and spending time with their families. >> amanda. >> yeah, grandma. >> how are you? >> reporter: amanda berry's grandmother cried tears of joy as the two spoke for the first time in ten years. it was a moment she thought they would never have. >> i thought you were gone. >> nope. i'm here. >> reporter: the fbi has a group of specially training talking with the family. >> much of what we're going to be doing over the next several days is going to be know cussing on them. how can we in law enforcement help speed the healing and the recovery process and treat them with the dignity and the respect that they deserve. >> reporter: at the crime scene forensic specialists pored over every inch of the home. 52-year-old ariel lured all

the middle brother arrested in the case, lured all three women into a trap. according to a reporter ed gal lek, castro tricked amanda berry to get in his car while she walked home from her job at burger king. he approached dejesus, a friend of his daughters and came back without her. michele knit was the first girl abducted when she was picked up in the same neighborhood when she was abducted back in 2002. police are also reexamining another missing person's case, that of ashley summers who was just 14 years old when she was abducted around the same neighborhood around the same time frame, but, anne-marie, police are not saying whether her disappearance is connected to the other three women. back to you. >> vinita nair in cleveland. thank you, vinita. well, other kidnapping survivors are speaking out. jaycee dugard was is just 11

when she was kidnapped and held for 18 years. she urged people not to give up on missing children. earlier she said the women in cleveland need a chance to heal and reconnect with the world. congressional republicans have been demanding accountability from the obama administration about last year's deadly attack on the u.s. consulate in benghazi, and those calls may grow louder as testimony begins on capitol hill. susan mcginnis is in washington. good morning, susan. >> anne-marie, good morning. three state department officials are scheduled to testify today before the house oversight committee. one of them is gregory hicks. he was deputy ambassador at the time of the attacks. he's expected to tell lawmakers not enough was done to stop these terrorist attacks that killed four americans including ambassador chris stevens. hicks, a 22-year veteran of the state department, told criminal investigators that while the assault on the consulate was occurring, he asked defense officials to zramable a fighter or two over benghazi to scare

the insurgents away. the answer, he said, was it's too far away, there is nothing. hicks also said a special forces unit in tripoli was ready to go but was told to stand down. house oversight committee chairman darrell issa. >> this is one of the most disturbing parts of gregory hicks' testimony is that assets were available, they were military in nature, they were best trained, best equipped, and most likely made to save lives, and they were taken off the plane. >> reporter: obama officials say no military resources would have made it in time. the september 11th attack has led to a politically charged debate in washington. in the days after u.n. ambassador susan rice appeared on "face the nation" and said the attack grew out of an anti-american protest. >> what our assessment is of the prnt is that, in fact, it began spontaneously in benghazi as a

reaction to what had transpired some hours earlier in cairo. >> reporter: the white house later acknowledged the attack was carried out by terrorists. some republicans say the administration has covered up facts and misled the public about benghazi. this despite a report finding fault with the state department's security posture at the consulate. on tuesday, president obama's nominee to replace chris stevens as ambassador to libya deborah kay jones was on capitol hill. she told lawmakers she would make sure security is tightened at u.s. missions in libya. >> an ambassador doesn't wake up without considering security. that just goes part and parcel with the job. >> now, some democrats contend republicans are trying to get something to stick to president obama. they point to that state department review and other hearings and briefings held by republicans on capitol hill.

anne-marie? >> susan mcginnis in washington. thank you, susan. well, james holmes, the man charged in the deadly colorado shooting wants to change his plea to not guilty by reason of insanity. holmes' lawyers initially refused to enter an insanity plea because they feared it would undermine the death penalty. holmes is charges with more than 160 counts of murder and attempted murder. the judge must approve the new plea. he's due in court month. mark sanford is back in the public office. sanford won back his old congressional seat in a special election yesterday. he easily beat democrat elizabeth colbert-busch. four years ago sanford's final term came to an end shortly after an extramarital affair became public. on the "cbs moneywatch" now, a new milestone for the dow, and a spending slowdown. ashley morrison is here in new york with that and more. good morning, anne-marie. well, wall street joined in on the global rally fueled by a better than expected jobs report here at home and encouraging economic news in europe. for the first time ever the dow

closed above 15,000 points after rising half a percent. a year and a half later it's up 15%. the dow closed up 87 points yesterday while the nasdaq gained almost 4 points. asian markets got a lift from wall street and strong trade data from china. tokyo's nikkei added three-quarters of a percent while hong kong's hang sing rose about 1%. not all economic news is positive. federal reserve says we're slowing our spending. credit credit purchased increased by the smallest. if you're an hourly worker who sometimes gets paid overtime, a bill in washington would give you a second option. senators are expected to vote on the proposal this week allowing the choice of paid time off. democrats, labor unions, and worker advocacy groups oppose it by saying it helps businesses to

avoid paying overtime. employers are posting fewer "help wanted" signs. the u.s. labor department says new job openings fell 1.4% in february. there's about three unemployed people for every job that's available. and the hero in the rescue of the three women held captive in ohio is neighbor charles ramsey. he shot to internet stardom thanks to his lively interview with local tv reporters and his affinity for fast food. >> i went to mcdonald's, i was eating at mcdonald's, i hear some girl screaming. >> not only did he mention mcdonald's in that television report, but he also noted the fast food chain when he called 911. now mcdonald's says they may be thanking him. the burger chain tweeted saying we salute the courage of the ohio kidnap victims and respect their privacy. way to go, charles ramsey. we'll be in touch. >> he certainly deserves a

when a georgia man lost his job during the recession, he lost nearly everything, but he came up with plan to rebuild, and as mark strassmann reports, he helps others rebuild their lives. >> you're going to run one down the center. >> reporter: brian preston started the leiman furniture company in georgia with one employee and no money. he lost his business in 2012 when the market crashed and he lost 12 employees. >> it had got son glad we were actually having yard sales to make ends meet and we had a newborn on the way. >> reporter: relatives had taken in his family when he had an idea for a new business. make furniture out of reclaimed wood like dismantled barns and shipping pallets.
