wednesday. the game was so one-sided it was shocking. the denver broncos and quarterback peyton manning were dominated by the seattle defense. the final score, 43-8.

was definitely a disadvantage for us and an advantage for them. >> in seattle fans were out in the streets celebrating the state's first sports championship since the nba supersonics won in 1979. at least one fire was set near the university of washington's campus but the police say there have been no major disturbances.

super bowl fans leaving the game faced delays due to crowding. nearly 28,000 fans used the railroad to get to the game. at an average giants or jets game that number is 8,000. at one point the fans were asked to stay in the stadium due to congestion on the train platform. a second platform was eventually brought in and buses were brought in to shuttle fans to new york. >> before the game president obama was interviewed by bill o'reilly of fox news. the president was forced to defend his administration on a number of issues. susan mcginnis is in washington with the details. susan, good morning. >> anne-marie, good morning. bill o'reilly pressed president obama on several controversial issues. he asked why the president didn't fire kathleen sebelius, the person who shouldersed much of the blame for the botched health care rollout. >> i'm a taxpayer and i'm paying

kathleen sebelius's salary and she viewed up. >> when we're midstream, bill, we want to make sure that our main focus is how do wi make this thing work so that people are able to sign up and that's what we've done. >> all right. was it the biggest mistake of your presidency to tell the nation over and over if you like your insurance, you can keep your insurance? >> oh, bill, you've got a long list of my mistakes. >> no, really. >> now, o'reilly also asked the president about that deadly attack in 2012 on the u.s. consulate in benghazi, libya. he wanted to know if defense secretary leon panetta told the president on the day of the attack if it was an act of terror. >> did he tell you it was a terror attack? >> bill, i'm answering your question. what he said to me was we've got to an attack on our compound yet. >> we don't know yet. >> we don't know yet who's doing it. understand, bill, when somebody's attacking our compound, it's an act of terror,

which it what it was characterized the day after the attack. the question ends up being who, in fact, was attacking us. >> now, the administration did initially describe the attack as a spontaneous protest. last night the president denied there was any politically motivated coverup and the president also denied that the u irs was used to harass conservatives. anne-marie? >> susan mcginnis in washington. thank you, susan. oscar winner philip seymour hoffman is remembered as one of the great actors. he was found dead in his apartment yesterday. often spoke of his troubles with drug addiction and last year he admitted to falling off the wagon after being sober for 20 years. it was drugs that cost seymour his life. >> reporter: after philip seymour hoffman was found dead in new york city. police responded after one of his associates called 911.

police arrived to find the actor unconscious on the bathroom floor with a syringe in his arm. he was found dead at the scene. envelopes containing heroin were panicked. panicked. it was 22 and i got panicked for my life. >> reporter: he made his mark as a character actor in some memorable roles. >> he's good cop and bad cop.

>> reporter: hoffman was nominated for four oscars winning best actor in 2006 for his portrayal as truman capote. >> hello. my name is truman capote. >> reporter: a role he threw himself into. >> i read the biography and i became somewhat obsessed, you know, with the whole idea of the story and that's really how i keyed in. >> reporter: hoffman's last public appearance was just weeks ago at the sundance film festival. fellow actors, neighbors, and fans were shocked with the news. hoffman's family is asking for privacy. >> i did everything i could. >> okay. >> i truly did. >> reporter: philip seymour hoffman leaves bhient a partner and three young children. he was 46. well, today, another winter storm is moving from the ohio valley into the mid-atlantic.

allies are pushing back hard against allegations he lied to his constituents. former new york mayor rudy giuliani defended chris christie on "face the nation." >> of course, if the governor didn't tell the truth, the governor is in serious trouble, we all know that. but we shouldn't jump to that conclusion until there's evidence to suggest that. >> reporter: it started friday when david wieldstein, the director of the port authority, claimed evidence exists that the governor knew more about last year's lane closures on the washington bridge than he's publicly acknowledged. in a scathing letter he acknowledged he had more responsibility. at 16 he sued over a school board election. he was publicly accused by his high school social studies teach over deceptive behavior. wildstein could not be reached for comment but he has yet to reveal the evidence his attorney

new york will be cold and snowy today. miami will be sunny. so will chicago. cloudy in dallas, los angeles, showers, 60 degrees the high. film director woody allen promises to fight renewed allegations of child molestation. his adopted daughter dylan farrow made the claims in an open letter published over the weekend. ben tracy reports. >> reporter: you don't have any comment about dylan's question? woody allen had no comments to make. through a publicist allen called them untrue and disgraceful. it was posted in a blog on saturday night in a post titled "an open letter from dylan farrow." she writes, when i was 7 years old woody allen took my hand and took me to a dimly light closet attic and told me to lie on my stocking and then he sexually assaulted me.

he's,, here's a look at today's forecast in some cities around the country. washington, d.c. can expect snow and rain. showers in atlanta. sunshine in st. louis. it will be cloudy in denver and sunny in seattle. so even if you are not a football fan, chances are you took a peek at the super bowl just to see the commercials. with more than 100 million people in the u.s. tuned in, it's the biggest day of the year for advertisers. ko im is here in new york with a look at some of the ads that clicked with the viewers. good morning, ko. >> good morning, anne-marie. the big game means big business.

a 30-second spot in the super bowl cost an estimated $40 million. this year's ads tried to tug at the heartstrings of viewers, including one that proved to be the biggest hit of the night. budweiser's puppy love commercial was a hit long before kickoff. the ad featuring an unlikely friendship between a puppy and a clydesdale horse generated more than 33 million hits on youtube in the days leading up to the game. >> clearly this is an ad that resonated with people. i mean it's a little sentimental, but it works. >> reporter: that was the recurring theme throughout the game. ♪ o beautiful for spacious skies ♪ >> reporter: coca-cola showed the diversity of the united states. "america the beautiful" could be heard in multiple languages in

this minute-long spot. others tried to tie their commercial with a cause. bono and bank of america teamed up to promote a cause. chevrolet's ad promoted the american cancer society. unlike many sponsors general motors did not release its commercials before the game. the same went for chrysler which brought out some star power for its second half ad. >> we will build your car. >> reporter: chrysler is always one to watch in the big game. you know, in past years they featured eminem, clint eastwood. last year they did the paul harvey farmer spot, which was fantastic. and this year they did not disappoint with bob dylan of all people. >> reporter: getting laugh was still important to other sponsors. >> you might want to hold onto those doughnuts. >> reporter: tim tebow started in two commercials for t-mobile poking fun at his time spent looking for a new nfl job.

>> hello, gnuman. >> reporter: the seinfeld reunion promoted his new show, and radio shack did a throwback to another decade with its spot in the first half. >> the '80s called. they want their store back. ♪ >> radio shack has this brand problem. you know, people do think it's sort of a throwback. has it kept up with the times. and this is a perfect example of brand, instead of running from -- you know, domino's did this to allot a claim last year, sort of embracing its negative -- you know, some of the negative feedback about it. >> reporter: tony case from "adweek" tells us that 80% of the super bowl advertisers see a bump after the game. anne-marie? >> all right. ko im. my vote goes to radio shack. i thought that was the best one. thanks a lot. coming up after your local news on "cbs this morning," seahawks' quarterback russell wilson. i'm anne-marie green. this is the "cbs morning news."

♪ o say can you see by the dawn's early light ♪ >> that's renee fleming before last night's super bowl. she is the first opera singer to perform the "national anthem" at the nfl championship. fleming's rendition was inspiring. now, she told jim axelrod she has been practicing nonstop for weeks. >> you often hear when the "national anthem" is discussed about what a challenge it is. it's not an easy song to sing is that right? >> oh, it's so right. i mean, you know, i want to say this is not for civilians to sing the "national anthem" because in its most basic form the range is an octave and a half.

to have that range so it's comfortable for men and women of ail voice types is impossible. >> how long have you been rehearsing this? >> i have been living and breathing the "national anthem" now since before the holidays. i mean waking up in the middle of the night more often than you can imagine going -- oh, my gosh, am i going to get it right? you can't sort of say, can i do that again? can we repeat that, please? >> are you playing offense or are you playing defense? are you trying to survive, door you want to kill it? >> that's a good question. i would say it's somewhere between the two. survival is important and i do think a lot about getting through it. i also have to suffer a lot in advance of anything important. it's been my lifelong coping mechanism, it's ridiculous, and i have been suffering a lot this
