the 70-year-old woman was vomiting but had no other symptoms. susan mcginnis is in washington with the latest. susan, good morning. >> anne-marie, good morning. it was a full hazmat response at o'hare airport yesterday because of the woman's symptoms but also the anxiety that is spreading because of this disease. no one has contracted ebola on u.s. soil. the president says the chances of an outbreak here are low but the government is concerned

common. >> reporter: some children with the virus have also experienced paralysis in their limbs, but at this point, it's unclear if the polio-like symptoms are related to the virus or caused by something else. health officials in new jersey are also keeping an eye on another child in the same school as eli. he's fighting a respiratory virus. tests are pending. a detention hearing is scheduled thursday for a 19-year-old illinois man accused of trying to join isis in syria. mohammed khan appeared in federal court yesterday. he was arrested saturday as he tried to board a plane in chicago. in a letter left for his parents he expressed anger over the killing of fellow muslims. khan is charged with trying to provide materiel support to a group. the supreme court is staying out of the battle. yesterday, the court decided to let stand lower court rulings

that over2ur7ed same-sex marriage bands in five cases. that means same-sex marriage is now legal in 30 states and the district are of columbia. jan crawford has more on the unexpected decision. >> reporter: same-sex couples from indiana to oklahoma to virginia were able to marry, just hours after the supreme court said it would not intervene. >> you may kiss your bride. >> reporter: the justices gave no explanation to why they declined to get involve. but for the past decade, the court has been laying the groundwork with other rulings protesting gay rights. led by swing justice anthony kennedy, the court last year granted federal benefits to legally married gay and lesbian couples. the ruling prompted conservative justice antonin scalia to make a prediction righting in decent, how easy it is yet inevitable.

scalia's prediction was right. the court so far have unanimously ruled the constitution prohibits states from treating gays and lesbians differently than heterosexual couples. monday's order does not legalize same-sex marriage nationwide, but instead, leaves the issue for lower courts to decide. now, that would change if other courts are now considering this issue, say, in louisiana or ohio, would reach a different conclusion. then the supreme court ould really have no choice but to step in and resolve the conflict and resolve once and for all if same-sex marriage is legal across america. jan crawford, cbs, the supreme court. there is the potential for flooding in the southwest this morning. the remnants of hurricane simon moving north will produce strong thunderstorms through tomorrow. flash flooding is possible. and some areas will get more than an inch of rain in a very short period of time. well coming up on the

18-wheeler that had stalled across the tracks. the train engineer and conductor were hurt but the truck driver escaped unharmed. it derailed two engines and 87 cars of an 87-car train. the tracks will be reopened today but it will take several days for a full cleanup of the damage. and the faa says the latest delays at chicago's airports were caused by phone problems at the indianapolis control center. yesterday, nearly 300 flights were delayed between o'hare and midway airports. 100 were cancelled. last month, a deliberately set fire at another control center forced the cancellation of more than 2,000 flights. on the "cbs moneywatch" the heirs of aunt jemima are competition. and facebook demands a new rival. good morning. the victim compensation fund for general motors has certified 24
