them. another guy wrote me that said he was a sufie. he's out about being islam. for his concept of spark of the sole. he talks a lot about the spark of the sole. our friend howard loved ekhart. he quoted ekhart a lot. this is a spot that could never go out. >> exactly. >> life is alive. that's the real miracle. the real revelation is their is a heart in the center of the universe and life.

. welcome back to mosaic. dr. matthew fox is the author of nearly 40 books. his latest book also just last year was letters to pope francis. it really captured his four path. >> they help name what our deeper spirit is. we have the path of joy and gradditude and awe and wonder. that's what opens us up.

then their is the path of silenc . that's for meditation. that's a spiritual journey that opens us up. then their is the holy spirit. it hovers over the mind of the artist at work. living is art. look at that beautiful shirt you are wearing this morning. they made it for you but you are wearing it. where would we be without music

and dance. then their is the path of justice. we can create gas ovens. we can create more mystery. we have the stir it. that's what justice is all about. those four paths which are at the part at your conference you mentioned the four e's. >> i did. i'm trying to apply his principals to today's world. they help name what should be gooding on in the world. we need a knew economic. did we learn anything about what law street did to main street. no one is in jail.

it's unbelievable. you know we need something that works for everything on the planet. the forest and ocean are we capable of this. david is a important economist. another e is education. >> absolutely. >> for 40 years i have been critical of the educational system in america. it's all about clear ideals. it's about our heart. >> my feelings were hurt. >> einstein said that. it comes from intuition and feeling. this is why young kids are dropping out of school. it's because they are board.

worry. i have a friend in miami who said if you walk the streets of miami there are six inches of water. the governor said what climate change. it hasn't been proven. >> i can't understand that. >> we are capable of creating such a public in terms of our ideology that trumps really, science, and truth. we have to start regetting strong about our responsibility and time is running out for us on this planet. we won't have long to turn things around. the young people know this. those who are running things don't believe it was important. if your air is foul and your

rivers and soil is poison your kids won't be healthy. >> i was reading in the science world that they are more creative. we don't believe in the impossible but they do it. >> that's a good point. the real world miracle comes from the word marvel. the potential is their for us to do so much in terms of solar energy and thermal energy. in india they invented a car that runs on compressed air. no pollution and air is pretty cheap. >> there was no glass made for the iphone when steve jobs started. he made it possible to have that. now you have an iphone 6 and

>> the pro -- professor came to me and said i'm confuse. he came to a few classes and said i got my soul back. what these engineers do is go to different countries and teach people to create solar generated irrigation systems. all of these miracles that engineers can do. i saw him a few months ago and he said it came from the experience in your program. that's an example of good education that help the soul live again. engineers do great things. that's the story of hope. when you can change a few people and they go do what they are called to do. that's how things get changed

in the world. >> right. i mean again we think things are impossible. but when people find their soul you say anything is possible. >> the creativity flows. >> can you say any one of those e's are more important that the other. >> i believe the ecology one is staring us in the face. if you or your children is not breathing good air and the seeds and food are disappearing. we can kiss our suite -- sweet cheeks good-bye. we need more people to capture

the importance. >> it doesn't think in terms of the polar bares are dying. these great being who have been here far longer than us. if you have this narrow vision of the worlds which is about humans you can't break out of it. that's why we need new education that opens the mind and the heart. it needs to include the heart. the young people are claimerring for this. they can get facts on an iphone. they don't need facts they need wisdom. spiritualalty. >> creation spiritualty. >> that's right. it's the christ nature in all of us. let's bring that out when they are teenagers. >> thank you for being with us.
