this is the "cbs morning news" for friday june 5th 2015. good morning. i'm alison harmelin in for anne-marie green. this morning the fbi is investigating what may be the largest cyber security breach of the u.s. government computer network ever. it's believed chinese hackers are behind the attack. the breach affects at least 4 million current and former federal employees. mark albert's in washington. mark, good morning. >> good morning, alison. the u.s. first spotted this high-tech invasion in april and cleared it last month. it's the second chinese hack of this same office in a little more than a year. as many as 4 million current and former federal employees are waiting to see if chinese hackers lifted their personal information right off of government computers along with details about job assignments

and performance ratings. sources tell cbs news some of the sensitive data might have been used in background and security clearance investigations. >> the federal government is probably one of the languagest employers in the world and to have that data system, to have that system breached is really pretty incredible. >> federal investigators say the hackers left behind their cyber signature when they broke into the network for the office of interior management as well as the interior department. they may have made it harder for foreign spies in the u.s. a spokesman for the every government agency are affected. lawmakers from both sides are calling for reforms. democratic congressman adam schiff says cyber shifts are

overdue while another says we cannot continue to look in the other direction. federal workers whose information may have been stolen will be notified next week. now, this hack occurred just as the federal government was in the process of installing new cyber security software across the board. so far, though that software known as einstein was only in place in about half the federal work force. a cyber security bill is pending in congress. alison? >> mark albert in washington. thank you, mark. the obama administration reportedly expanded the government's surveillance of american foreign internet traffic in a hunt to thwart hacking threats. amid the reports of 2012 the nasa security agency was tracking evidence without a warrant. at least five confirmed tornados touched down in central colorado. at least 25 homes were damaged or destroyed.

the storm swept flooding and marbe-sized hail in some areas. in missouri a flash flood warning was issued for some parts. roads are flooded and as are some homes. more rain is expected today. family members of the boston man killed by terror investigators say they want a transparent investigation. they had nothing to say after viewing the video of usaama rahim's death. a family lawyer said they saw no signs that he had been radicalize radicalized. >> reporter: this morning the family leaves the suffolk county d.a.'s office after watching the surveillance video. >> this is our mother/sister. >> earlier they held a news conference where their lawyer said seeing that tape of rahim being shot by police would help answer many questions here tuesday morning. >> they want the con very saying

at this point to turn on the fact that a very young man is dead and whether that shooting was justified. >> reporter: the family, he said, was shocked to hear claims that rahim was an isis sympathizer with active plans to behead boston police officers. >> that comes as an absolute surprise to the family. they had not perceived any conduct or change in demeanor with usaama consistent with those reports. >> reporter: rahim's widow left the roslindale news conference without saying a word but his aunt suggested rahim was carrying this knife that day because he felt threatened. >> as you all know with the current slaughter of black men going on right now across the nation that's enough to make any and all black men feel threatened. >> reporter: the imam from

media only after rahim's funeral which is set for friday. in boston jim armstrong, cbs news. overseas the cruise ship that capsized is right side up this morning. they uprighted it to recover the bodies of more than 130 have been missing. colorado authorities are trying to determine if they have a serial sniper on their hands. the latest victim 65-year-old william kanol was shot and killed near his home in loveland, colorado. authorities say two earlier shootings are connected. jon jay kobe was shot and killed as he was riding a bike. cory ramero was shot in the neck on may 22nd, but she survived.

>> there are enough like pss to this case that we immediately reached tout the task force that is assigned to investigate this and other crimes with us. >> all three shootings happened within 15 miles of each other. no one was injured when a small private jet made an emergency landing in philadelphia. the jet landed yesterday without its front landing gear being deployed. it was in a flight yesterday from new york to new mexico. there were five passengers on board. vice president's joe biden's son beau is being remembered. the vice president and his family stood in a receiving line and offered handshakes and hugs. president obama will offer the eulogy tomorrow. beau biden died of brain cancer.

jeb bush is expected to jump into the presidential race. he'll make a formal announcement june 15th. he enters the crowded field as the favorite. as the son and brother of the former president he would be the third member of the medial family to occupied the oval office. >> that is exactly why today i'm running for the presidency of the united states of america. >> and former texas governor rick perry announced his can day di candidacy outside a hangar. he's the tenth republican primary candidate. and coming up on the "morning news," sales snafu. and a camera catches a fireworks frenzy in chicago. this is the "cbsthis is the "cbs morning news."

amateur video captures a running fireworks battle on the streets of a chicago neighborhood. the sparks fly as dozens of young men shoot roman candles at each other tuesday night stopping traffic on a busy avenue. witnesses say no one was hurt and the police eventually arrived. the crowd had already dispersed. dramatic video of a man shown driving a stolen ambulance. a mounted camera shows the driver losing control and a vehicle tumbling onto its side. a good samaritan stopped to help the suspect and police say he stole that man's van. he's in police custody. the fda is set to approve a female drug. flibanserin is expected to boost

the female's sex drive. patients must be made aware of the side effects including fatigue, low blood pressure, and fainting. and on the "cbs moneywatch" a change in the menu for subway sandwiches, and a sale by southwest airlines gets swamped. jill wagner is at the new york stock exchange with that and more. good morning, jill. >> good morning, alison. we begin with the update on the continuing bailout talks between greece and its creditors. key divisions remain following talks in brussels. greece agreed to pay all the money it ohs to the international monetary fund in one payment. if greece is unable to secue the remaining money, it could go bankrupt and be forced out of the euro. with the greek bailout talks on hold, u.s. stocks closed lower. the dow lost 170 points. the s&p finished 18 points lower, and the nasdaq is down 40 points. the drugstore chain cvscys it is shocked by allegations that says it discriminates. four former investigators in new york say their supervisors

ordered them to racially profile black and hispanic shoppers. cvs says it does not tolerate discrimination. apple says about half of the top 100 retailers will accept its new mobile payment service apple pay this year. it allows users to pay for items and services at retail checkouts. and online devices using apple devices. it will begin selling some of its models of the apple watch in retail stores by june 18th. apple began taking order on line and some models are in short supply. subway is joining other fast foot restaurants in dropping artificial ingredients. the sandwich chain says it will remove artificial flavors, colors, and preservatives from its menu by next year. a three-day sale by southwest airlines attracted so many customers it caused the airline website to crash. the website meltdown left customers unable to book flights during the big sale. customers were directed to call an 800 number, but volume was
