service. don champion is in charleston. don, good morning. >> reporter: good morning, anne-marie. so many people are expected to attend the service it's expected to move to a local arena. even without the presidential visit security has been high. wheenwhile two other victims have been laid to rest. mourners will fill the arena, the college of charleston today to bid a final farewell to pastor and state senator clementa pinckney. president obama will deliver the eulogy. the president and first lady knew pinckney and some of the other victims. >> the president will be mindful of not just how sad it is but to use the occasion to celebrate their lives. >> reporter: pinckney was killed at bible study at the emanuel ame church. thousands turned out there thursday to view the pastor's open casket. >> he saw no evil that could not be stamped out by love, and he lived by that. >> reporter: president obama will also meet with the families of the other victims of the church massacre here in charleston. among them, 45-year-old sharonda

coleman-singleton and 70-year-old ethyl land. >> she was a victim of hate and she can be a symbol of love. >> reporter: emotions ran high as the women were laid to rest emotions that will play out again over the next few days as charleston buries six more of its own. now house speaker john boehner and hillary clinton will also attend the funeral today. it starts at 11:00. mean tooil the funerals for the other six victims will be held over the course of next week. >> don champion in charleston. thank you, don. the family of dylann roof issued a statement thursday. it said in part we would like to take the time to reflect on the victims and give the families time to grieve. we feel it would be inappropriate to say anything at this time other than we are truly sorry for their loss. all nine people on board a sightseeing plane were killed when it crashed in alaska. the twin engine plane flew into a cliff about 20 miles north of

ketchikan yesterday morning. the pilot and eight passengers were on the flight. the passengers were on an excursion from the holland-american cruise ship from amsterdam. weather is hampering their efforts to recover the bodies. and new questions are being raised over hillary clinton's private e-mails on the 2012 attack in ben za guy benghazi, libya. the state department said on thursday it cannot find all or part of 15 work-related e-mails from the former secretary of state that were released the week by the house committee. clinton claims she turned over 55,000 pages of material including all work-related e-mails. the supreme court's decision upholding a key provision of the affordable care act has opponents fuming. it's the second time in three years the court has ruled in favor of president obama's health care law, all but assuring it will survive after the president leaves office. mark albert is in washington

with more. mark, good morning. >> good morning, anne-marie. this was a major test for the law that's become known as obama care. the ruling dealt with the tax subsidies at the heart of the law. it sparked a heated descent at the court and a republican vow to use the health care law as a key issue in the 2016 election. >> if those justices want to become legislators, i invite them to resign and run for office. >> senator ted cruz and other republican presidential candidates are livid calling the decisions outrageous and uncontrollable outride tyranny. they voted 15 times to appeal the law and they say they aren't done yet. >> we're going to continue our efforts do everything we can to put the american people back in charge of their own health care and not the fellow government. >> in a 6-3 decision the federal government ruled that they can.

for the second time chief justice john roberts wrote an opinion supporting the law. congress passed the affordable care act, wrote roberts, to improve health insurance markets, not destroy them. but in a blistering descent from the bench, justice anthony scalia said we should really start calling this law scotus care. having voted the other way they say they would have lost the subsidy. the ruling was a significant legal win for the president. >> after more than 50 votes to appeal or awaken this law after observing or repealing this law, after multiple challenges to this law before the supreme court, the affordable care act is here to stay. >> and the obama administration got another victory from the supreme court when the justices preserved a key law that fights housing bias in a 5-4 ruling.

the justices ruled the fair housing act can be used by people to challenge lending rules and other housing practices that have a harmful effect on minorities even if there is no proof that the discrimination is intended. anne-marie? >> mark albert in washington. thank you, mark. the supreme court still has five cases to rule on and the biggest involves gay marriage. same-sex couples want the court to declare that gay and lesbian couples can marry anywhere in the united states. four states want the court to uphold the ban on same-sex marriage and allow the political process, not the courts to decide the outcome. the justices could rule as early as today. and the house approved the president's peace agent day. the house passed the bill that includes a worker training program for workers who lose their jobs because of international trade. it's the final part of the fast track trade bill passed this week by the senate.

the bill had been blocked by democrats who were opposed to the fast track negotiating authority. the vote clears the way for the administration to wrap up a trade deal with 12 pacific rim nations. and this morning firefighters are fighting two wildfires in the foothills east of los angeles. the latest fire broke out last night burning at least 100 acres. it's grown overnight, and several buildings are threatened, but so far no evacuations have been ordered. about 12 miles away, firefighters are fighting the largest forest fire this year. the lake fire has grown to over 25,000 acres. there are mandatory and voluntary evacuations in place, but many residents are staying put. >> as far as i'm concerned, i'm trusting the professionals that are fighting the fire and i trust in their advice and their words, and if it's voluntary, i'm not going to leave until they say it's necessary. >> the lake fire is about 20%

contained. prosecutors say a new york state prison guard facing charges in the escape of two convicted killers was an unwitting accomplice. investigators say gene palmer delivered tools to richard matt and david sweat inside frozen meat. palmer's arraignment thursday was delayed when his original attorney stepped aside. >> i simply don't have the resources to devote at this time. >> court papers say palmer gave matt and sweat access to the catwalk behind their cells and he allowed them to rewire electricity so they could cook in their cells in change for art from one of the inmates. more than a thousand law enforcement officers are hunting for the fugitives in northern new york. governor chris christie will by making his announcement to enter the race. christie is planning to jump

here's look at today's forecast in some cities around the country. there's been what appears to be another shark attack on the north carolina coast. it happened along the beach in surf city. an 8-year-old boy was bitten wednesday about 20 feet from shore. the bites were to his leg and foot, and the wounds appear to be superficial. if confirmed, this would be the fourth shark attack in the area in three weeks. on the "cbs moneywatch" now, protests over uber in france, and google cars on the road in silicon valley. jill wagner's at the new york stock exchange with that and more. good morning, jill. >> good morning, anne-marie. the french interior minister says the uber car service in

france must be shut down. yesterday striking french taxi drivers confronted uber drivers smashing their cars with baseball bats, setting their cars on fire and blocking traffic. they say the uber drivers are ruining their livelihood. they were outruled but they continue to do business. ten taxi drivers were arrested and the uber drivers continue to do business. the ceo and manufacturer of takata apologized for the defective airbags that have killed at least eight people. speaking in tokyo they say they haven't figured out what caused the airbags to explode with excessive force. nearly 34 million vehicles in the u.s. have been recalled. the pod-like cars are driving on streets near google's silicon valley headquarters. the cars had previously been confined to a private track.

humans were on board in case of an emergency. debt talks go down to the wire. the dow lost 75 points, the s&p fell 6 points, and the nasdaq fell 10 points lower. another recall for athletic wear manufacturer lululemon recalling tops because it can cause injury. they have been recalled for six years in the united states and canada. previously lululemon had to recall pants that you could see through. and today the 17th annual "take your dog to work" day. it was created by pet sitters international. it's designed to encourage pet adoption by showing folks who don't have dogs the bonds their co-workers have with their pets. others show that dog-friendly workplaces can reduce stress. anne-marie, we know you weren't able to bring your dog to work, but go have a picture of him to keep you company, and what a cutie. >> yep. we gave him a bit of a mohawk cut for the summer but you

a north charleston police officer is out of a job this morning for an insensitive facebook post. sergeant shannon dildine was fired after he allegedly posted a photo of himself wearing confederate flag boxer shorts. the picture spread on social media. the police chief says the picture undermines community trust. and this morning apple is joining the movement against confederate symbols. the company is removing games from its app store that features the confederate flag in quote, mean or offensive ways." apps showing it for historical reasons will remain. and taylor swift and apple have restored her music. swift says she will put her mega hit album 1989 on apple's new streaming service. her decision comes days after apple reversed course, bowing to pressure from swift to pay artists during a trial period.

an incredible story of survival in a south american jungle. rescuers in colombia saved a woman and her infant son four days after their plane went down in a remote area. the crash killed the pilot. with no food the pair subsisted only on coconut water. finally a helicopter carried them to safety. >> and it may be the most talked about play at a baseball game, and it wasn't made by a player. on tuesday cubs fan keith hartley reached over a railing and snagged the ball and he snagged it bare hand while holding his 7-month-old in his other hand. hartley got a standing ovation from the crowd, but others say he put his son at risk. now the sure-handed dad is
