state capital. this is the "cbs morning news" for tuesday, june 30th, 2015. good morning. thanks for joining us. i'm alison harmelin for allege. federal authorities have issued a bullet alerting local official to the threat. hannah daniels is here in new york with more. good morning. >> reporter: good morning, alison. the chatter of a possible attack has terror experts has alert. they are warning all law enforcement officials to be prepared and vigilant this independence weekend. in "the new york times" one of the biggest fireworks sflas is set to take place, officials will keep an eye in the air and on the ground. >> there will be a very robust deployment of both patrol

group. if convicted he faces up to 20 years in prison. this threat comes a week after attacks in tunisia, france and kuwait. >> thank you, hannah. >> reporter: firefighters in washington state are battling a wind-blown wildfire that has already destroyed two dozen homes. the out of control fire has burned some 4,000 acres near and in the town of winache, 20 miles northeast of seattle. the wildfire scorched homes before firefighters could react and hundreds were forced to evacuate. >> it was intense. large embers blowing everywhere roofs catching on fire vegetation around the house just spreading from house-to-house. >> reporter: wind-blown burning embers set a warehouse on fire and three firefighters suffered minor injuries but no residents have been hurt. in california a wildfire broke out yesterday afternoon about 150 miles north of los angeles. the smoky fire is contained but

burned over 300 dow and the s&p are down and stock markets in asia saw steep losses before rebounding. holly joins is by the phone. >> reporter: good morning. today is also the day that greece was to make a payment to the international monetary fund of 1.8 billion dollars, a payment it cannot make. leaving his office on monday night, the greek prime minister alexis tsipras was defiant and he has called for a national referendum for sunday. greeks will be asked to vote on

bailout deal that calls for more cutbacks and tsipras is encouraging them to vote no. at a rally yesterday, thousands of greeks said they agree with their prime minister. they have enough of european mandated austerity. >> we weren't pleased and nothing more. nothing else. this is humiliating. >> reporter: with the greek banking system and stock markets shot down greeks rushed to grab what money they could, withdrawing $1.5 billion from their accounts on friday. no vote on sunday's referendum could be the final nail in the coffin when it comes to greece remaining in the eurozone. that would be traumatic. alison? >> holly williams for us in athens, greece, thank you so much, holly. at least 20 people were killed when an indonesian cargo

plane crashed. it went down shortly after taking off in northern indonesia. 12 crew members were on board. the pilot made a turn and crashed into acl. this morning, thedeadline to reach a deal is today but a senior u.s. official says the talks on a comprehensive nuclear agreement will continue. secretary of state john kerry continued to negotiate yesterday. after yesterday, u.s. officials said they were nowhere near a deal. we are learning how two convicts escaped prison. one of the men is talking. two prison employees had been charged with helping the two convicts escape. gene palmer appeared in court yesterday and admits to giving the two tools but didn't know about their escape plans.

>> reporter: david sweat said he and fellow inmate richard matt had to improvise when their get-away driver didn't show up june 6th. he said it was for joyce mitchell to drive them for mexico but mitchell had a panic attack to sweat and matt took off toward canada. >> they took off. >> reporter: sweat told police the pair split about a week ago because matt was slow. a border patrol agent shot and killed matt friday. on sunday a new york state police sergeant spotted sweat and shot him twice in the torso. about a mile and a half from the canadian border. investigators hope to get more information more information out of sweat in the coming days. the republican presidential field is expected to get more crowded today. chris christie is expected to kick off a presidential run at

his high school. a sharply divided supreme court has upheld the use of a controversial drug during executions. the court voted 5-4. the justices decided its use does not violate the prohibition on cruel and unusual punishment. several skugsexecutions with the drug took much longer. two justices say for the first time that the death penalty may be unconstitutional. justice stephen breyer along with ruth bader ginsburg write, quote. the court also temporarily blocked part of a texas abortion law. it would have closed most abortion clinics in the state. the justices voted 5-4 to grant an emergency appeal for abortion providers. the decision could be a signal that the court is preparing to hear a full appeal.

person. defenders say it's not racist and should remain, despite the charleston church massacre. >> just because nine people lost their lives in a church in charleston, which i'm not downplaying at all, still a tragedy, has nothing to do with that flag standing up there. >> that flag does not deserve to fly at all in south carolina. we want it down because we think it's disrespectful to us. >> campaigning in south carolina, republican presidential candidate jeb bush said the flag should come down. he recalled moving it from florida's capital grounds when he was governor. >> the symbols that have divided the south in many ways, the symbols that were used in most recent modern history, not at perhaps the beginning of the time, but the symbols were racist. >> a survey of south carolina lawmakers appears to show enough support to take it down. the vote needs two-thirds majority of senators and house members. straight ahead, a half-baked idea. retail giant walmart comes under fire for making a cake with an isis flag.

setting himself on fire. he apparently used flammable liquid to accelerate the flames. video shows smoke filling the cabin as passengers struggle to get out. local media reports say a second person is dead and several other people were injured. the train with about a thousand passengers on board made an emergency stop on its way to tokyo. one of the strictest evacuation laws in that country is waiting for the california governor this morning. lawmakers passed the measure on monday requiring all public school students to be immunized. it ends xempions for religious or personal beliefs. only children with serious health issues could opt out. governor jerry brown has 12 days to sign the bill. donald trump's controversial comments about mexican immigrants are prompting more boycotts this morning. spanish language media companies are cutting ties. that word comes on the heels of nbc dropping trump's pageant

cause of a spectacular blaze that engulfed a landmark stadium in eugene. massive flames climbed twice the height of the historic stadium on monday. the flames gutted the building. smoke was visible for miles. the wooden stadium was built during the great depression. on the cbs "moneywatch" a new way to stream music and walmart apologizes for a controversial cake. jill wagner is at the new york stock exchange with that and more. >> reporter: good morning, alison. this morning a new player in the subscription music business, apple. it will offer unlimited access to songs for $10 a month. the new streaming music service will be available as part of an update for its ios software and apple hopes to attract many of 800 million i tune users to the service. president obama wants to dramatically increase the number of workers eligible for overtime. writing in an op-ed piece for "the huffington post," the president urges salary workers would be eligible for o.t. by next year.

established fast food eateries like mcdonald's and burger king and kfc and wendy's got some of the lowest scores in years. pizza chain suffered huge customer dissatisfaction losses. as they compete on price with the expensive ingredients. dung dunkin doughnuts is the only fast food chain to improve on customer satisfaction this year. walmart is accused of making a cake with an isis flag. a man ordered the cake at a louisiana walmart after his request with the confederate flag was rejected. last week, walmart banned the confederate flag from its shelves. walmart said in a statement, an associate did not know what the design meant and made a mistake. we apologize. alison? >> maybe they should stick to happy birthday? jill wagner at the new york stock exchange, thank you, jill. in sports, team usa can move into the women's world cup finals with a win tonight. the second ranked americans face the only team ranked higher than them, number one germany.

a california woman is recovering after giving birth in the woods. amber pangborn got lost driving to her parents house through plymouth national forest on wednesday. she ran out of gas and no cell phone service when her contractions intensifies. stranded, she put a sleeping bag in the back seat of her car. >> the next contraction, i just pushed and, like, i think two contractions and two pushes and

i just reached over and grabbed the handle where, you know, above the window and i pushed her out and then she came, she came out. >> for three days, she survived on some soda, water and three apples. on saturday, she started a fire. fire crews discovered her and her baby a few hours later. mom and daughter are expected to make a full recovery. today, we get a little extra time. it's an extra second known as leap second. official atomic clocks will adjust to the earth's rotation slowing down a bit. it's the 26th time that an extra second has been tacked on to a day since 1967. in europe fruit is getting a face-lift and the new look could be coming to the united states. >> reporter: shoppers have to look twice before even noticing. >> that looks good. i like that. >> reporter: fruits once weighed down by the frumpy stickers now support a sleeker look called the laser label. >> this is not any more. it's a melon that has its own mark.
