of a burning home and is this what flying in the future will look like? an airline supplier patents seats that face one another. captioning funded by cbs this is the "cbs morning news" for friday, july 10th 2015. good morning. good to be with you. i'm anne-marie green. for more than 50 years the rebel flag has been flying on the south carolina state capitol grounds. that ends this morning. the flag will be lowered and moved to a museum following an emotional debate and protest by those who consider it a symbol of oppression and those who say it honors their ancestors, and as hena daniels reports, the flag debate has moved to the u.s. capitol. >> reporter: it's been a fixture on the grounds of the south carolina state house for five decades but later this morning it will become a relic in a museum. governor nikki haley signed the bill thursday ordering the

principle principle, of who we are as americans. >> reporter: setting the stage for more. the suspect posted an online manifesto and he was seen posing with the confederate flag. man re? >> hena daniels. thank you. severe weather is a possibility today from the ohio valley to the central plains. thunderstorm watches and warnings are posted in the oklahoma panhandle and northwest texas. flood watches are up in missouri, illinois indiana, and kentucky. last night a powerful storm with winds clocked near 70 miles per hour ripped through central arkansas. there is significant damage to buildings, trees, and cars, but there are no reports of injuries. >> in philadelphia last night strong winds and torrential rain brought down a tree. the heavy wind brown rain caused major flooding significant

damage, and left thousands without power. there were also major airport delays. well, the breach of a u.s. government computer system we first told you about last month is far worse than originally reported. it turns out hackers stole social security numbers and health histories from tens of millions of people in a second attack. it's believed to be the biggest data breach in u.s. history. craig boswell reports. >> reporter: the u.s. government is preparing to notify 21 1/2 people that their sensitive personal information is in the hands of hackers. cyber criminals stole 19.7 million social security numbers of people who ujds went federal government background checks. another 1.8 million were taken from family and friends of the applicants. the information was stored at the office of personal management where the federal government keeps employee data. hackers also stole addresses, education, and employment history, mental health

criminal, and financial records. more than 1 million americans had their fingerprints stolen. fbi james comey said they got a treasure trove for everybody who has worked for, tried to work for, or works for the united states government. outraged republican leaders including house speaker john boehner are calling for them to fire katherine ar cho le ta. she said she won't resign. many are pointing the finger at china. >> they'll find a million ways to use them. >> reporter: investigators say so far there's no indication any of the stolen information has been misused. craig boswell, cbs news washington. the latest deadline has pass and there's still no deal for iran to curb its previous program. the u.s. is in no rush to get a deal and threatened to walk away from negotiations. the iranians said the u.s. has

gone back on an interim deal that expires today. and the fbi said it broke up potential acts of terrorism in this country prior to the july 4th holiday. the agency arrested more than ten people leading up to independence day. fbi director james comey said he believes they had ties to isis and intended to kill people. former cia deputy director michael morell says the threat is not over. >> you know we are still on heightened threat because of that general radicalization that's taken place and because of that call to arms by isis during ramadan which doesn't end until mid month. >> the government warned of a heightened threat but did not identify a specific plot. colorado shooter suspect james holmes will not take the witness stand. holmes told the judge yesterday he will not testify. today the lawyers plan to wrap up their case.

hoechls pleaded not guilty by reasons of insanity to multiple de first-degree murder. jeb bush is raising money at a historic clip. he raised more than $114 million in the first six months of the year more than any other presidential candidate so early in the campaign. more than 100 million came from a super pac supporting bush. the rest came from contributions to his campaign. despite all the money bush has raised it's donald trump who sits atop the new pochlt trump holds 15% of the vote nationally. bush and rand paul have 11% each. trump is tamping down on reports the gop national committee chairman reince priebus expressed concern over trump's controversial comments over

undocumented immigrants. the call was congratulatory but priebus admits it hit a nerve. bill clinton spoke to the inaugural class of leadership program in dallas last night. they said they wanted the campaign to steer away from personal attacks and be a meaningful discussion of the issues. >> we've got to kind of rise above anger to answers, that rise above recentsentment to a real job. if you get the job the next day it doesn't matter what was wrong with the opponent and the election. you're on your own. >> i know jeb and i'm confident secretary hillary will elevate to this course. i can't attest to their surrogate. i can attest to this surrogate.
