know what it was. good evening, i'm brian hac. i'm juliette goodrich. the blue streak wasn't a me, a comet, or even a u a glowing object lights up social media as it streaks across the sky and we know what it is. good evening. the blue streak was not a meteor or even a ufo. the light everyone saw came from an unarmed missal that the navy testfired off the coast of los angeles. it was so bright, people as far as mexico reported seeing it. apparently the airports knew about it,

what started the fire. the state is digging deep to prepare the damage from major wildfires. they are bringing up another $45 million for debris removal. that is on top of another $10 million without a reserve last month. and they could end up reimbursing a lot of those costs, because both sites were declared federal disasters. >> getting around the area of fourth and king has been a royal pain. you are looking at a live shot of it now, they are busy working on the subway project - - project and the intersection will be shut down through next saturday. a new central system moving around town. transit crews are installing track to finish connecting the existing third rail line of the future central subway. it will be slow going in that

feathers. there is a turkey shortage. 9 million turkeys were wiped out by the bird flu this spring. fresh birds have been particularly hard to come by. at - - with the shortage cause a higher cost, up to 30% higher. all of this as the state delays the commercial crab season, thanks to dangerous levels of neurotoxins. regions from santa barbara to oregon are affected. dogs once again can go back into the river - - cannot go into the river - - can go back into the river because the toxic algae bloom is clear. dogs are vulnerable because they drink the water. cooler temperatures and higher water levels are killing and

flushing the algae. the river is no longer at risk. prescription pain pills are one of the top drug threats in the united states. and in fact, they account for half of the 46,000 drug overdoses in the united states from 2013. tonight we are getting a look at the clever ways kids are concealing pills from parents. they are hiding them in plain sight. >> under the bed, in the back back, behind books, anywhere you name it. >> reporter: nick knows all too well the lengths young people go to hide drugs. >> they don't want to hide it where they think you are going to expect it to be. they are going to put it right in front of you. >> reporter: the drugs of choice, xanax, and opiate -based pills, sold on school campuses. adderall is a favorite at exam time when students feel they

need an extra push. a dangerous act made more troubling because the bills are often carried in real prescription bottles and can easily fit inside of concealment devices. >> kids are comfortable hiding things in plain sites. - - in plain sight. you have an empty sunscreen bottle with your own funnel. >> think sunscreen tubes and hygiene products. >> we will just tossed it - - toss it to the side. >> reporter: devices that are simple to use. >> how easy is it to get this? >> as easy as possible and readily available, anybody can get these devices anywhere. watch into a store - - walk into the store. >> i would hide coding in a visine bottle.

and it's 57 degrees in redding, and there is rain in monterey, overnight lows tonight into the upper 30s in santa rosa. daytime highs tomorrow, a little bit cooler than what you would expect. oakland is 67 degrees, much of the bay area will be in the 60s and that will do it for the locations for the south bay and the east bay, and it is chillier than it was weeks ago. tomorrow we are more than 20 degrees. the forecast looks wet tomorrow and monday. tuesday, wednesday, thursday, we dry it out and in the meantime, expect things to turn wet tomorrow morning in the north bay and spread rapidly south early afternoon. and speaking of sports. >> the defensive battle at the tank and the rivalry that is underway and a sibling rivalry that was put on hold.
