friday's deadly attacks that killed 129 people and injured more than 300. good afternoon, michelle griego has the afternoon off. we begin with developing news this noon on the paris attack. france is launching a second day of air strikes on isis targets in syria, retaliation for the slaughter of at least 129 people. fighter jets have been taking off from bases in jordan, striking an isis command sentter. training camps and ammunition dump in the city of rack ca. one military official says france is taking the lead. meanwhile the city of paris is wracked with grief over friday's massacre. there is mourning in the streets and the manhunt continues for throes responsible. >> reporter: good morning. we are here in republic square this evening in paris. you can see the large group of people gathering here. this has become one of the large makeshift mental morals

in the city. it is somber ask people are also on edge, because keep in mind, one attack soldier still at large. >> reporter: thousands across paris shared an emotional moment of silence today, honoring the lives of the 12 killed and hundreds more injured in friday night's terror attack. >> we have to be careful, take care. >> reporter: french police are moving aggressively, arresting two dozen people overnight during more than 150 raids across the country. security forces in belgium are also on the move, searching for 26-year-old slammed. french reports say abdelhamid abaaoud is the mastermind behind the operation. he is believed to be in syria now. french war planes slammed targets overnight, and u.s. intelligence is helping the french locate targets. >> reporter: isis is the face

of evil. our goal, as i have said many times, is to degrade and ultimately destroy this barbaric terrorist organization. >> reporter: many in paris have returned to work today, but there is still a sense of sadness and fear. some have found solace at memorials like this. >> reporter: carol colon can't believe his friend was gunned down. >> she die. >> reporter: his other friend is recovering after being shot. france is under a state of emergency that could last for the next three months. >> reporter: and of the seven attackers that were killed, police know the identities of five of them. and in each case, according to authorities, they all spent time training with isis in syria. in paris, kpix. right now the eiffel tower's lights are back on. the iconic monument lit with the colors of the french flag. the tower has been closed since

friday's attacks. people in the bay area have been stopping by the french consulate to pay respects to the victims of the attack. today flowers and posters calling for peace were displayed. some also left written messages in a book of condolences. and hundreds gathered at a vigil at cal state university long beach to remember a student, killed in the attacks. a choir sang to honor gonzalez as mourners pack the student union. the 23-year-old was among the 19 people who were fatally shot at a paris bistro friday night. the industrial design major was studying abroad for a semester. tonight scott will be in paris with the very latest on the investigation following kpix news at 5:00. and remember stay right here with kpix 5 and cbs for continuing coverage of the attacks in france.

back home two alameda counsel toy sheriff's deputies are on paid leave after security cameras recorded them beating a suspect with batons. the suspects hit assistance love petrov. he had just led deputies on a high speed chase and then rammed into the police cruisers. the deputies are on leave while the sheriff's office investigates. the san francisco public defend soldier accusing the deputies of using excessive force. new details this noon about a fatal officer involved shooting. jackie ward is live with more. jackie. >> reporter: frank a 3-year-old male with a previous oakland address was shot and killed by police after what was presented to them ended up being a fake gun. this all happened at 90th and bancroft sudden evening as police officers were filling

out paperwork and waiting for tow trucks to remove a motorcycle. a person who lived nearby says side shows are happening almost every weekend. oakland mayor libby shaft says enough is enough. >> the city of oakland will not tolerate these activities. they represent an unacceptable amount of risks for motorists and pedestrians and most importantly, the residents of east oakland deserve to have peace and quiet. >> reporter: late saturday night this was what the scene looked like near the 880 high street off-ramp. 200 cars were seen driving in the wrong connection early sunday morning. people were doing donuts and jumping on cars. even a patrol car. police say as many as 700 cars were involved in various side

visibility because of the winds whipping up in the city right now. 20 miles per hour. across the bay, san jose westerly at 21 miles per hour. we have the winds at 16 in napa. i have the windy conditions, and when you can anticipate rain, coming up later in this newscast. frank? investigators are looking at mechanical failure as a possible cause in friday's tour bus crash in san francisco. twenty people were injured when the bus crashed at union square, six remain hospitalized. san francisco supervisor jane kim said a preliminary report suggests something was wrong with the bus. >> i think there are some questions about how record keeping has been, and how vehicles are actually being maintained by large tour bus companies regulated by the state. >> reporter: the chp is reviewing the bus's maintenance records and video of the crash will be crucial to the investigation. surveillance cameras at some of the nearby store in union square captured footage of the

throughout the state of california and 11 per year. hard to imagine right? okay. weather watching time. at this time everybody is reporting numbers in the 50s except for charlie, he is reporting 68 degrees in vallejo. winds 23 miles per hour. and jerry in antioch has 1 miles per hour winds. and yes the flag is flying there. the embarcadero gusts 22 miles per hour. temperatures mostly in the 50s. 60 degrees in concord. 19 miles per hour winds in fremont. 21 in san jose, 16 in napa and way out in this area, fairfield, which encompasses the strait and the delta, that is where we have the wind advisory until 6:00 p.m. tonight.

the winds out of the northwest at 20 miles per hour. we have such a gradual warming slated for this week, i don't see any rain in the forecast through thanksgiving. sure, we have a series of troughs well to the north of us. so unless something changes, like a ridge of high pressure breaks down, we have a dry spot of weather for the next 7-10 days easily. we'll be basking in sunshine and extremely dry conditions. temperatures will be above average, beginning tomorrow. upper 50s at the state capital today. currently 25, going up to 33 in the greater lake tahoe area with a foot of snow above 7000 feet. the sun goes down at 4:58. and by the time it comes up tomorrow morning temperatures will have dipped between the low 30s and the low 50s. highs today 50s and 60s. 58 degrees in livermore. 26 in san rafael. here is your extended forecast, you'll notice each and every day that gradual warming until
