>> reporter: the king tides come. this area becomes flooded. i'm standing in a foot or so of water. the water is receding. the tide is going back out. it's still causing the chp to keep this exit, the offramp for stib son beach and highway 1 closed until further notice. this has alled of the major flooding. cars tried to brave the elements despite the conditions. a taxi drive we spoke to said there is he's no stranger to days like today. >> one time i was stuck on entrance there. i can't drive too much water. >> reporter: the offramp is typically closed when there is a king tide for safety reasons. the chp says that's because

launch -- reusable rocke we're getting our first look at the successful launch and retrieval of a reusable rocket launched by amazon's founder. the reusable rocket soared to an aimty dude of over 300,000 feet on monday and then landed safely back on earth. he says eventually they hope to start taking people up into space but it's not clear how much a trip off the planet will cost. a new study finds back seat passengers are much less likely to wear seat belts. a careless choice that often ends in tragedy. the governor's highway safety association finds that 883 back seat passenger, who weren't wearing a seat belt died in crashes in 2013. about half of them would have survived had they buckled up. experts explain what causes

>> reporter: the cruzs know full well gas prices can shoot right back u still, like thousands of other americans, they are saying yes to the suv. in san francisco, mark kelly, kpix, 5. walmart is gearing up for the biggest shopping day of the year. the biggest retailer hosted a black friday preview at the supercenter in san jose. they are preparing for large crowds and the usual excitement. this year will be different than years before. >> for the first time, we're offering the deals online most of the black fridays will be hoffered online early -- offered online earlied a mit into the on thanksgiving morning and then the event starts in the store at 6:00 p.m. >> if you don't do black friday steals, the sales will be rolling out online all week. the sierra ski resort has come up with a rather unique way to keep the powder or the sleeps -- powder on the sleeps.
