bay. jackie ward is live at san francisco's city hall where arena supporters are holding a rally. >> reporter: the rally started a few minutes ago. it's people who want a new arena in the mission bay neighborhood. they say the real represent says of how they are feeling about moving into the neighborhood -- >> and again/. >> reporter: the merchandise can't keep on the shelves long enough to keep up with the demand. that's not silencing the mission bay ali aliance -- alliance. >> this process has been ramrodded by the wealthy and well to do whose interest is not in the best interest for the people of san francisco. >> reporter: new poll numbers were released to show they have the data to back up claim the warriors are not wanted at the

site. >> we found growing opposition. currently 49% of voters support the stadium and 42% oppose the stadium. that's very different than what the warriors released or the stadium supporters released in july when they found that 61% supported the stadium. >> reporter: it's a different story if you talk to this supporter. >> south of market is so diverse from the rest of the city. >> reporter: he sees it as a way of boosting business when the giants are not in town. >> kind of like a long lost son, gone away, traveled around the world and came back home. >> the mission bay alliance would like to see the warriors come to san francisco. we just believe this is the wrong one. >> reporter: a spokesperson for the warriors project said the polling still shows enormous support for the arena. he said people like the fact the arena is being held in a very transit rich

environmentally served by muni, b.a.r.t. and caltrains. they will decide this afternoon whether to reveal the report that shows how $82 million would be used for transportation and the city services in the area of the arena. back to you. police in san jose are looking for a trio of brazen burglars. the three were caught on surveillance camera entering an east san jose home back in september. two were seen exiting a red car and crossing the front lawn into the home here. police say the burglars stole an unamounted of disclosed class. >> vacses are underway. record landfill has led to land slides and major flooding in parts of the city. more than 3 inches of rave came down in just 24 hours and some people are staying in their homes as the floodwaters rise while morse are gladly skipping town. >> if we can stop it here, save

happening around the u eureka area. let's go to tower california radar and satellite imagery. and you can see a cold front that has nothing to to about el nino. it's baking up against the pacific northwest. it's providing some of that light rain across the northwestern section of the state. it will be making treks towards the bay area. we'll track the storm together so we can tell you exactly when you should hear those raindrops on your rooftop and that report is coming up later in this newscast. michelle and frank? >> all right. thank you. city of san jose scrambling to find places that can serve as temporary shelters for the homeless for winter time. about 4,000 people actually sleep on the street. as el nino rolls in and temperatures drop, the availability of shelters could mean life or death. a flight from sfo to paris was diverted overnight because of a threat. three and a half weeks after the paris attack. the air france jet took off

after 3:00 yesterday afternoon. it was en route to charles degaulle airport but was diverted to montreal. the airline tweeted there was an anonymous threat. the plane was searched and nothing dangerous was found on board. >> republicans are turning on donald trump after his idea that's being called un- american. and craig boswell has more. >> reporter: donald trump's latest policy proposal is the most controversial yet. >> calling for a total and complete shutdown of muslims entering the united states until our country's representatives can figure out what the hell is going on. >> reporter: the crowd at the trump rally cheered. but his opponents are outraged calling trump unhinged, ridiculous, divisive and offensive. >> he's a religious bigot.

that stuck out? >> not even close. >> he did ask you a question, though, his gun was smoking. what does that tell you about his experience with guns? >> well, the experience with the rifle tells me it was a enough rifle. he was not familiar with it. >> farook went to the range at least twice. two assault rifles used in the attack were purchased by another man, enrique marquez. he's not been arrested and is now talking to investigators. and several candlelight vigils were held in the bay area last night in memory of the victims. they include one in campbell organized by service employees international union. ten members of the seiu were killed in last week's attacks. >> it was a gut-churning reality because just like us, they are serving the most vulnerable people and we had no idea if the attacks were aimed at a worker or if it was aimed at the system in general. >> the organizers say as the story unfolded in san bernardino, they felt a sense

touching tribute in paris lt night. the by the a rock band, u-2, performed a touching tribute in paris. >> the group was joined by the eagles of death metal. that's the same barn in the bataclan concert hall the night of the footing. mark phillips with the band's emotional return. >> reporter: this was never going to be an ordinary rock concert. ♪ >> reporter: it was a statement that life would go on and it was a tribute to those whose lives had been in it. bono sang a french classic as the names of the victims were projected in the form of a

should expect the raindrops, here we go. taking you through today in and out of the clouds through tonight. let's go ahead and stop at noon tomorrow. notice a little bit of light sprinkles around the north bay. otherwise it's kick started. takes you to thursday morning. there's the cold front. it slices across the north bay, central bay and once it passes through the bay area with its wraparound moisture, we're looking at anywhere from .25 in the santa clara valley all the way into about an 1 1/2 in the far northern places of the north bay. all right. so when it's all said and done around the state today, foggy conditions in the central valley. 53 in tahoe. we're a foot and a half -- a foot and a half of snow is expected by friday afternoon. sunset 4:51 and in between now and now would have temperatures in the 60s across the immediate bay area. winds are light. we have rain and wind on thursday and another good chance of showers moving into the bay area on sunday.

breaking news over in the east bay. chopper 5 is over martin luther king, junior regional shoreline. that's where a man's body was discovered this morning. it was a park visitor who made the grisly discovery. the victim, a man in his 20s. part of that park is being sealed off. we'll have much more on this story coming up tonight at 5:00. well, you know you need a shopping tip when you are buying a fruit you likely have never tasted. >> this is from the far east. here's tony. >> well, i love this fruit. it's a citrus. it's used mainly for the zest. the zest out of buda, the oils that come out are incredible. as a matter of fact when you hold it like this, you can smell the oil right in your happened. i'm not kidding you. they are wonderful for the
